I was in B&M yesterday and milk was upto £2, depending on brand, looking round the food items I wasn't too impressed with the prices, I may as well have been in a regular supermarket.

@doingitanyway I know it's not an option at the moment, but in the future look to bake your own. GF flour isn't too badly priced. Hopefully you'll find replacement in the interim; it's worth having a look online and getting a delivery as there's a few dedicated bakeries.

I've only just ventured into GF bread and enjoyed the schar seeded loaf, made me feel like a giant picking a slice up. It felt like bread, toasted like bread and looked appetising. Costs £2.95 for 12 slices in my local, but T sell it cheaper.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

The vast majority of those ingredients are processed starches. Each to their own, but I don't consider that list of ingredients as particularly healthy.
I have noticed that my local Mr T's Express has started stocking Doves Farm Freee white bread flour £1.70 for a 1kg bag. The website gives the ingredients as Flour Blend (Rice, Tapioca, Potato), Thickener (Xanthan Gum). Would making your own bread be worth trying?
Thank you @goldfinches. I generally like Doves Farm flours but this mix is rice, processed starches and gum. I usually make my own using buckwheat flour as a base. I am staying with other people so I can't bake at the moment. I will get back to it when I can

Thanks @MovingForwards  I used to make my own and will again one day. It is much cheaper. I enjoy baking and it is more nutritionally dense. It tastes nicer too  :)

I like to add fruit to my jellies but tinned fruit is also becoming more expensive so it seems the humble fruit & jelly dessert isn't the cheap option it used to be!   :'(
tinned peaches in Aldi 31 pence. Also - I think- price matched in Tesco & Sainsburys. Own brand/ bog standard. No other cheapie tinned fruits, sorry , just peaches

You're right Katie, Sainsburys does indeed have peaches at 31p (in syrup rather than fruit juice which I'd rather have).  All their other tinned fruit is around the £1 mark.  Sadly, I don't have an Aldi or Tesco near me - just Sainsburys or Co-op or Nisa, both of which are dearer still.   :'(  I do sometimes use fresh fruit eg grapes by way of a change.

Rosa - I thought I'd found the answer to your sugar free jelly crystals problem as Sainsburys has twin sachets of these (£1) but alas they do have pork gelatin in them, so not what you're looking for.   :(

My neighbour asked me to get her some tinned peaches in Tesco last week, they didn't have any. Must have been a run on them, not due back in until 12th May.

no doubt the only cheap ones at 31 pence! Everything else (everywhere) is considerably dearer
