    Yes, it's a common ploy for sizes to change so that the price doesn't appear to have gone up so much, though to be fair on some of the retailers/suppliers the current price increases aren't so much within their control.

    Yep, it's a price increase by the back door.  The price may well remain the same but it's still a price increase because you're getting less for your money.  Aka shrinkflation - it's been going on for quite a while.
