Lovely walk with MSE friend today .
What do people do with money left over in personal spends pot ? Do you roll it over into next month or move it to savings ?

Well done on the win 🥳 I keep mine to one side too. Maybe if it built up too much I’d push some into savings.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • 😳£8 for a potato, I could get a sack of potato's for that . Well done on the PB win 🎉🎉in the unlikely event that my personal spend ran over I would roll it over to the next month 😊
    Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,120
  • I roll any personal money surplus over initially but move over to savings after a month or two if I  don't need it available.

  • A garden centre near us was advertising soup and a roll for £7.95! Needless to say, we haven't felt the urge to take them up on the offer.

See, this comment is why you will do great in your retirement. I got rid of a debt of over £24,000 in 2 years on a small income. Yay me, but I haven't changed in some ways.  When I have money left over my first thought is  'ah, money left over, what can I spend it on?!' This reminded me my mindset isn't as changed as I like to think...

    Love the photo

You seem happy and productive with a good balance of things.

I used to be the same, if money left over I would look what to spend. Now it goes into my Xmas fund until I have the amount I intend to spend then it goes into my savings. How times have changed.x

  • Thank you for all your replies , I am going to sweep it aside for extra petrol money for the next couple of months as I have a few longer distance trips to do .
The rest of the week has flown by and it's work again tomorrow.
I am meeting my friend for coffee after work tomorrow, she likes to meet at the big shopping centre

My friend and I have booked a holiday abroad this afternoon, really looking forward to that . I think holidays have gone up , but we have been sensible and kept to our budget.
Off to get sorted for the working two days now.
