Very frustrating to hear others have had offers within weeks. :( My application was started on 28th Feb and is still open because they keep coming back with more document requests/queries/refusing documents. The EWS1 form which took us 6 weeks to get was refused because of a small technicality. And now it is taking us many more weeks to chase for a new document that is specific to what Barclays wants, so I am seething with rage at this point. But feel like all I can do is keep chasing and wait.

I should mention I haven't even had any hard check done either which is strange considering for others it seems to be done very early in the process?

I believe the hard check can be done anytime when the underwriters are confident that all documentation has been provided. Sometimes can be straight away or much later in the process. All depends on how complex the case is, whether it was referred etc etc.

The only thing you can do is provide any requested documents ASAP.

Hi I'm just wondering  how you are all getting on and progress? I applied 9th May as a first time buyer , then on 14th May my broker asked for extra proof of income, which she submitted, since then no change, no soft/ hard search, nothing really ? The seller apparantly has found a chain free property to move into and is mortgage free so pressure us on to pay for searches and survey, feeling the pressure now and broker is taking time to reply to my messages  abit at present

My hard search is still not showing on my credit files! Survey done 18th May after nearly 3 weeks since applying and approved and paperwork through on 20th.

So everything has been accepted but no hard search? Have you called them? I assume its searches first then valuation and  then decision seems abit backwards and allot longer than most, my previous fell through 11 days in but I applied through santander via broker and searches done within hours of them getting yhe claim and a week later mortgage agreed, then valuation booked before the seller pulled out, abit late now as my broker recommended barclays so here we are

Its all through a broker and all confirmed with paperwork etc through- Im thinking its just not showing yet on my credit file as a search but will await- Not worried at all as my solicitor is very good, mortgage broker seems excellent and things are mving! Awaiting response form solicitor today on anything outstanding that is stopping us move to exchange sooner rather than later :)
