There are some big commercial bread slicers if you really get addicted! One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -

Damn.
Ordered one now.
Having read all of your remarks and done a little research, it looks like a good idea.
Decided not to tell OH but to cook a loaf for her for when she comes home from work. Nice surprise.
Hopefully she'll like it and then not moan about the room it takes up.
Is that the best thing to do, do you think?
BTW.

Many thanks for this. I saw this post yesterday and cursed cos ex-DH had asked me last week what I wanted and I'd said "breadmaker" (wanted to say Panasonic but thought it was a bit pricey). Later yesterday he rang telling me he'd decided Panasonic was best -but was having trouble finding decent price with availability so I happily sent him off to Amazon to order-Result for me-and for himI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
