Morning all, as @Coxy11 said it's bright and sunny this morning although there's a bit of a cool wind.  Was going to sit in the garden and drink our coffee but the chairs are still a bit damp so just stood in the sun to drink a cup!  Nice to actually be able to do that.

It's WI for me this morning and hopeful of a loss as I've had a good week.  My scales show just under lb loss so may only be 0.5 at group seeing as it only weighs in half pounds!

    Today's plan:

    B - fruit and yoghurt - S; F
    L - Welsh rarebit - HEA2; HEB; P; F
D - cheese and tomato pasta bake (with loads of mushrooms, peppers and courgettes) - S; F; syns?  not sure how many yet as need to see how many portions I get.  I'm making half the quantity of a recipe which says it serves 12 but I actually think I could end up with 8 rather than 6 portions but will have to wait and see once it's made!

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - cheese sauce 1.5; olives 1.5 cheese 1.5 (these figures assume 8 portions)

I made the chicken biryani last night from the magazine and wish I hadn't bothered.  It was a lot faff, caused loads of washing up and was bland!  What a waste of time and electric.  My normal veggie biryani is much tastier and far less faff - uses 2 saucepans and a small bowl to shape!  I could easily just heat through some cooked chicken from the freezer to make it a chicken biryani.  I was surprised there wasn't any veg in the recipe apart from onions and garlic so not a particularly good example of a good SW meal for someone who just buys the magazine and doesn't go to group.  There was also a bit of grated cucumber in the raita!

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.  Thanks for the advice re: motor homes @joedenise I'll pass it on to DH but think it will be a while before he wants to do it again 😆  We're off to Florida in about 12 weeks and then on a cruise next year.

Had some blueberries and raspberries with yogurt this morning and then for lunch I'm just going to chuck some random veg in the soup maker for an easy lunch.  Dinner tonight is a keema biriyani based on a gousto recipe so it takes about 20 minutes and all in one pot 👍

Need to crack on with work as have a few presentations to prep for today.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Here's the recipe (I leave out the sultanas and yogurt), use beef mince instead and add in a grated carrot and some frozen chopped spinach.  Quick and easy and tasty for what it is.  Obviously not a traditional biryani but we like it.

Thanks @ruby_eskimo for the recipe.  Will give that a go at sometime.  I've saved it into my documents.

I was right!  Just 0.5lb off this week so only lb to spare for my holiday.  I'm going to take at least 6 weeks off so not back to group until mid July at the earliest and hoping I will be able to lose whatever I put on while I'm away!

Well done @joedenise.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 It may be only half a pound but it's enough to give you a breather while you go on holiday. 😁

I'm thinking I should go to WI tomorrow morning🤔. We're going to a funeral later in the day and, although I'll have lunch first, buffets can be very tempting.

That looks like a really quick and easy recipe @ruby_eskimo. What made me smile was how you'd instantly adapted it to make it more healthy with extra veg and leaner meat. 👍🏼 I didn't agree with that MP the other week going on about 30p meals (apparently it was batch cooked for 170 people and no idea what recipe it was) but he did have a point about how much easier it is to be economical if you can cook. As only 'hard' subjects count for anything in the school curriculum these days, cookery has been squeezed out and even if there was a change of policy, few schools have the facilities any more. I still use recipes my girls learned at school, including the sausage casserole we had on Monday. Didn't fry in lard though! 🤣

I did have about 1 extra syn yesterday. I was peckish when I got home last night so made a little salad with LO rice and added a bit of LTL mayo.

Hope you've got syns planned for today @bubbs. 🤔

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, fried eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
L- ham (P), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- chicken casserole (P,S,F), cabbages, cauli and broccoli (S)
    Syns- cornflour 1

Change of plan for dinner!  Was doing some sewing and before I knew it it was 5.30pm!  The dinner I was planning says 1 hr prep and 40 min cooking so decided to swap it over with Thursdays dinner!  So it's going to be cauliflower cheese with chips, followed by strawberries and ice cream.  I've made DH an apple pie so he can have that with the ice cream instead.

Good luck with WI @maman for tomorrow if you decide to go.

I'm sure you can get some syns onto your ice cream tonight @bubbs!  Have you got any flakes? or chocolate of some sort you can have on top?
