Morning all, as @Coxy11 says a big brighter this morning although forecast is for thundery showers later.
@Coxy11 - is it worth applying even though you don't have a degree? Is it a Desirable rather Necessary qualification? Could be worth chatting to HR.
Need to so some more shopping today as have run out of both potatoes and onions and can't live without either of those! Also need more fruit as we've even everything bar an apple!
Today's plan is a bit rice heavy but that's because I needed to change my menu plan and swop over today's and yesterday's dinners as I forgot to get the chicken out early enough to be able to marinade it in time for yesterday's dinner!
B - kedgeree - P; S; F
L - scrambled eggs and spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
D - chicken biryani (recipe from this month's magazine) - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - none planned
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. Was going to say the same thing @Coxy11, usually if you can show you have relevant experience of doing the job or something similar then it means more than having the qualification but not the experience of putting it into practice. Sorry to hear your news @Gettingtherequickly take the time for yourself as others have said. Hope your back is doing better @maman. Congratulations to all the losers and commiserations to all the gainers. On the topic of jeans, I love the Topshop Jamie jeans as they're high waisted and not too skinny in fit while having a bit of stretch to them. Sadly my favorite pair now have a massive hole in them so will have to try and find an alternative as stock is a bit hit and miss now that Topshop technically no longer exists. Have tried the M&S Ivy jeans which are similar but seemed a bit roomy around the waist (I have wider hips and struggle to find things that fit the hips but also aren't too baggy at the waist).
Got back from our weekend in the New Forest yesterday. Had a lovely time with Bertie (the VW campervan we hired), even if he was a little temperamental with his gears at times. The weather was glorious and DH didn't complain once about "camping" 🤯 Started off near Brockenhurst, then drove down to Milford on Sea and had a lovely walk down to and along the coast and finally ended up in Linwood. Lots of stops along the way to wander in the forests and along the open heathland and revel in the silence of the place. Food was relaxed, we had bacon sandwiches for breakfast each day and then we had snacky bits for lunch (cucumber and carrot sticks, cheese, berries, sausage rolls and a few crisps and then dinner out each night. Lots of seabass was consumed by myself followed by a huge roast dinner Sunday which half the plate was vegetables so quite good for SW 😉. Did lots of walking (at least 10 miles each day) which I think negated the odd glass of wine I was having too. Haven't bothered weighing myself this week but straight back to it. Haven't had breakfast yet as wasn't feeling hungry but might have some yogurt in a little bit. Lunch is going to be some soup I pulled out of the freezer (leek and potato) with some bread and dinner is a portion of chicken curry I again pulled from the freezer 👍 Will probably make some mushroom rice to go with it.

That sounds like a lovely break @ruby_eskimo. Glad you enjoyed it and well done on all the walking!
I agree with the others @Coxy11. I'd definitely check out whether the degree is essential.
I don't think the yogurt and flavoured cottage cheese will make much difference over the week! 😁 There don't seem to be so many crazy fads about with SW as there used to be. I remember the obsession with Mullers and also Scan Bran, Mug Shots and that curry cake made with dhal. I quite enjoyed the curry cake at taster sessions but never succumbed to the rest.
My neck is much better today. Last night I slept with 1 pillow and it seemed to help plus the cream. I didn't sleep as well as usual but at least the pain is lessened.
We'll be having dinner earlier than usual today as I'm going out. I won't plan a snack for later but I have plenty of cold meats and tomatoes in the fridge if I'm hungry later.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- JP, baked beans (F), side salad (S)
D- veggie chilli (P,S,F) with brown rice (F), cottage cheese (P)

Just jumping in quickly to say apply for the job @Coxy11. I’m in local government and don’t have a degree although it was preferred. I do have a wealth of experience that my boss appreciates, especially when I’ve picked up on or prevented a few errors happening! The plan is definitely out the window this week but plodding on where I can. It’s absolutely fantastic to have DS1 home and he says I’m looking better and younger now than I did ten years ago 🤣🤣0

Okay gang, you have inspired me to contact the recruiting manager to ask about the degree. Job advert isn't clear. Not sure how 30+ years experience in the real world would count me out of the running but you never know!!
Weather has been atrocious today and can say I really enjoyed my cheesy beans on toast with side salad at lunchtime as the rain was hammering down outside! Proper comfort food.
@Jellybaby DS1 sounds like a keeper - what a lovely thing to say xx
Love the New Forest @ruby_eskimo - glad you had a good time away

Well done with keeping up the syns @bubbs this week. Good luck for a decent loss this week.
Glad to hear that you're going to contact the recruitment people @Coxy11; experience is definitely more important than qualifications for most jobs and as you say you've got that.
Glad you enjoyed the camper van and the New Forest @ruby_eskimo. If your DH needs a real bed maybe hire a motorhome with a fixed bed rather than a camper van. There are lots of models about with fixed beds, either a French bed, which is a bed in the corner with a shower room on the opposite corner. A drop down bed which stores in the roof during the day or a fixed bed over a garage at the back. You can also get MHs with single beds but they tend to be a bit longer. If you don't have a C1 licence then of those the French bed would probably be the best bet as more likely to be less than 3.5 tonnes and drivable on a standard licence.
