So sorry for your los @Gettingtherequickly.  Don't be hard on yourself, take time to grieve.

No idea about how to motivate yourself other than planning and make use of foods that you fancy.

What sad news @Gettingtherequickly. So sorry for your loss. It must have been quick at the end so good for her. 🤗

You'll get back on plan when you're ready as you know SW well. Remind yourself it's healthy and you'll feel in control when you're planning and eating well. I'd buy some nice things to snack on if you don't feel like proper meals. I love those prawns in IIRC garlic and parsley. Or buy a Pret salad Nicoise or some cold meats. A salad bowl from Subway is easy, balanced and the only syns are in any dressing you choose.

    Be back soon. 🤗

Sorry to hear your news @Gettingtherequickly. I agree with others. Be kind to yourself. Sending hugs xx

I'm going to WFH until mid-morning then catch the train to London for the event. There is lunch beforehand but I have a cunning plan to eat brunch before I go and will take a hi fi with me for the train home. This means I will stick to tea/water at the event. It's 4 hours, I can do this!!

    Food today:
    B - pineapple, strawbs, blueberries - some S
Brunch - smoked salmon and scrambled egg on WM toast - P, HEB
    Dinner - turkey saltimbocca, green beans - P, 0.5, S
    HEA - milk
    HEA - mini babybel
    Syns - hifi bar 3 plus 0.5 - 3.5

    Have a good day everyone,
    Coxy

D - chilli with rice and roasted tomatoes on the side

    Have a good day all!

Morning all, weather is horrible this morning and still raining on and off.  Our water butts have overflowed with the amount of rain overnight - one of them was nearly empty so shows how much rain we've had.  The only good thing is it means we won't need to water the garden!

Was up early this morning as we needed to take the motorhome into the garage for a small leak of the power steering fluid - wanted to get that sorted before we go to France.  I had to drive behind DH so he could get home.  The traffic was horrendous.

    Today's plan:

    B - breakfast hash with bacon lardons - P; S; F; 1.5
    L - pea and ham soup (from freezer) - P; S; F
    D - goat curry, red lentil Dahl, rice, samosas - P; S; F; 2

    HEA - milk
HEB - none planned but may have hifi or similar later; or even couple of crisp breads and Primula Light for 2nd HEA
    Syns - lardons 1.5; samosas 2

    Have a good day everyone.

God plan to eat before you go @Coxy11. I'd prefer to have smoked salmon and scrambled eggs instead of stodgy, buffet food any day. I don't mind using syns as long as I think it's worth it.

Did you make the samosas @joedenise?🤔

I've had a long walk this morning, weather has been good here @joedenise after the deluge last night.

We're out to eat this evening so not sure what I'll be having for dinner. Been on plan so far today with porridge and berries  for breakfast and a hash with cold chicken and pickles for lunch. Will report back later but not hopeful of wise choices as menu at this particular pub seems to have got worse. It'll be good to dress up a bit and catch up with friends though. 😊

I did make the samosas.  They're not very regular in size though as I can't cut straight!  I used the recipe on the SW website but it made masses of filling so I added the extra to some spiced veg I made for a biryani so it didn't go to waste.  I thought there were only 4 samosas left so would have 2 each but when I actually checked there were 8 left so that means an extra couple of syns but not a problem it's still fairly low syn today.

Weather definitely improved this afternoon and has brightened up considerably.

I've finally got round to starting on making a pair of summer trousers.  I've got as far as altering the pattern to hopefully make a better fitting pair and then cutting out the fronts and backs.  Haven't actually made a start on sewing yet as my cutting out space is a bit low so my back has been complaining so I'll leave the actual sewing for another day.  May well make a start tomorrow.  It's a simple elasticated waist style so shouldn't actually take long to make once I get started!  Just need to make sure I've got some of the right width elastic.

Enjoy your meal out tonight.  I think a lot of pubs seem to have changed their menus since reopening but unfortunately not for the better!  There's usually a much smaller menu to which limits choice even further.  DH and I have got vouchers from a local pub chain for our birthdays (have 6 months to use them) but checking out menus online and there is absolutely nothing SW friendly at any of them.

That's a good offer @bubbs but unfortunately no good to me at the moment as not enough freezer space a the moment to spend £60.

If anyone is over 60 Iceland and The Food Warehouse will be giving 10% off everything on Tuesdays from next week.  Handy for me as that's when I usually go to The Food Warehouse!  Don't spend a lot in there but there are a few things I like from there including lamb shanks and big blocks of cheese.

There was also something in the Mirror that they are considering rolling out a £30 vouchers in the summer for anyone on state pension which has been trialled, I think, in the Midlands.  That will be good for us oldies too if it happens.
