Well the fitters gave up about 12.15 as they couldn't get the meters commissioned so means we're going to have to wait for another appointment for someone else to have a go! What a pain.  Won't be until at least July now I wouldn't think as we're away all of June.  We've also got a couple of short breaks planned for July and 2 weeks in August!  It's going to be a job finding a time that is convenient for us and for the fitters.

I hadn't thought of smoking cheese ourselves; maybe that's something to try in addition to doing bacon and salmon.  We've done bacon this week.  Smoked yesterday and bagged up for the freezer this morning.  It was a huge piece of loin of pork and now have 21 x 4 slices of bacon frozen; plus 8 x 50g bacon lardons.  Should keep us going for a while!

I think it's a bit of a rite of passage at that age @Coxy11 so to be expected. Like you, I have sympathy with the Uber driver. When DH and I first got together, and were saving for our first house, we used to drive a taxi at weekends. I escaped the drunks as we'd swap over about 9.30pm and I'd operate the radios while he took over the driving.

Great NSV @beanielou. Do Levis still have button flies? 🤔

I'm assuming they couldn't commission the smart meter because the system was down @joedenise. We've had problems with ours ever since the prices went up. It works for a few hours occasionally but is mostly dead. On Wednesday it told us we'd used £5+ when we'd had no heating or washing, so just basics like lights, kettle, shower, desktop, dishwasher.  Dinner was just Bolognese on the hob. That's scary when you think what we'll need come the winter. ☹️

Since I last posted, we've eaten out twice. I made good choices. Last night was prawn cocktail followed by sea bass with new potatoes and spinach. The potatoes were drizzled with garlic mayo. Today I had smoked trout and celeriac remoulade followed by prawn linguine. The trout was on a small, thin slice of bread. So most of my syns were on mayo. Shame about the wine. 🤣

Back on plan tomorrow. Good luck to those going to WI in the morning. 🤞

    Morning everyone,

Dry and bright here which is good weather for a walk to group.

Well done on your NSV @beanielou - I haven't worn jeans for c.5 years as find them really uncomfortable. Did think of trying some high waisted ones but worried I'll look like Max Wall!

    @maman DS2 got home at 2.30pm! What a disgrace!

Dinner last night was a traybake of 2 small diced potatoes, the narrow end of a butternut squash (diced), half yellow half red pepper sliced, red onion roughly chopped and two small carrots diced. I sprayed with fry light and cooked for 10 mins then put 4 frozen haddock fillets and a bag of prawns on top. Seasoned with salt pepper and oregano. Was so tasty and really light.

Might pick up some steaks and flat mushrooms after club for tonight's tea.

I'm not hopeful of a loss this week as it's TOTM and I appear to be weighing the same naked as on the group scales last week. Oh well, what will be will be.

    Back later to update.
    Coxy

Morning all, dry and bright here too @Coxy11 but then we're in the same part of the country so not surprising really!  We're out this morning to see a friend so will probably eat out at lunchtime but no idea where or what I'll have!

    So today's plan:

B - fry up with home smoked bacon (no fat, DH cut it off and had it himself!) - P; S; F
    L - No idea yet!
D - steak, onions, peppers, mushrooms, corn on the cob, jacket potato or chips (done on the BBQ) - P; S; F; 3 if we have chips

    HEA - milk
HEB - none planned but may need lunchtime
    Syns - probably a couple of G&Ts 0.5; possibly chips 3

    Have a good day everyone.

Back from group with a 1lb gain this week. Star week has a lot to answer for. I'm bloated and haven't been to the loo properly in days (sorry TMI) but I just feel so uncomfortable.

I bought the latest magazine so will have a look through for some new recipes and inspiration. Didn't get steak and mushrooms as had a bag brimming with fruit, 2 birthday cards and a few bags of sweets/mini wine/facemask for DD who is into her exam period at uni. Will send that off via courier later and grab the steaks.

    Food today:
B - overnight oats, muller light, frozen cherries, strawbs, blueberries, pineapple - HEB, 0.5
    L - smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes - P, S
D - steak, large flat mushroom, roasted veg (butternut squash, red onion, peppers, carrot) - P, S
Syns - a small glass of red with my dinner
    HEA - milk
    HEA - mini babybel cheese

    Have a good day everyone,
    Coxy
