Morning all, it's lovely here today. Really sunny and warm. Have washed the bedding and got it out on the line - I think it's dry already but I'll leave it for another couple of hours to air and have a bit of a blow in the slight breeze.
I'll probably be late posting tomorrow as got an optician's appointment - I'm going to a different one this time as fed up with SpecSavers. The last few times they haven't managed to get my glasses right first time and I always have to go back to get them adjusted.
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash - P; S
L - toasted cheese sandwich; pickles - HEA2; HEB; S
D - goat curry, rice, cucumber raita, mini naan - P; S; F; 6
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - mini naan 6
Have a good day everyone.

I can barely read the names of that Korean food @ruby_eskimo but I'm sure you'll enjoy it.🤣
That salad sounds interesting. I usually have the tuna nicoise from Pret. I can only see a teriyaki salmon sushi salad online so perhaps this one is new.🤔
Only three more sleeps until your son gets home @Jellybaby. How wonderful. Shame about the weather though. I hate to tell you it's 18 degrees and sunny here. Enjoy your lunch but don't go hungry tonight, a bowl of soup is barely enough.
Well done you, taking your DS to vote @Coxy11. I do hope all young people feel using their vote is important. The Aldi Essential wholemeal is 2 slices for a HEB as well as Neville's and I think there's one from Morrison's too. I do keep it in the freezer as it's ideal if you want a sandwich but it's not as tasty as other breads IMO.
I've done my meal plan and shopping list so all organised for next week. We plan to eat out once but not decided where yet.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, fried eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes mushrooms (S)
L- LO hash and veg (P,F,S)
D- HM burger (P), SW chips (F), green stuff, fried onions, roast peppers (S)
Syns- weekend wine!! 😁0 -
No voting card for DS2 as he only turned 18 in January, so he approached the table with trepidation. We all took our passports but not needed. I think I'd feel happier if someone checked I was actually legit!
Mr Nobody has been snacking on my fish sticks. Luckily there was a few left for lunch with my tuna and balsamic concoction. DH has just suggested a BBQ tomorrow so I need to seek out my SW BBQ book for some inspiration. I never feel comfortable having a cheat day on WI day, although I know others in my group do this.
I liked the Nev!lles bread. Used two grated babybels in order to have enough cheese coverage for two slices, but absolutely zero cheesy taste. Ah well!
The Pret salad sounds nice Ruby - did you figure our the syns? Could be another standby for me when I'm in the office and unprepared!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -
Just found the salad online: Salmon and Mango Salad Bowl which I forgot had avocado in it but it was literally 1 sliver and I didn't have the dressing. Has all the nutritional info in there so hopefully you can work out the syns @Coxy11 but I'm sure it's minimal if you don't have the dressing 👍
And don't worry @maman, I can't pronounce half the dishes either - have been trying to learn Korean on Duolingo but it's not going very well. When we have a BBQ I tend to just have steak and/or chicken and corn on the cob with some salad - pretty boring but at least it's syn free!. I always microwave the corn before finishing it off on the BBQ because it doesn't seem to cook well otherwise. Sometimes I microwave a jacket and finish that off on there as well.
Enjoy your BBQ @Coxy11.

Lunch was disappointing! The smallest chicken salad I've seen in my life so will definitely be having more than soup tonight! It was literally some leaves, a few cherry tomatoes halved, an egg quartered, and a very small grilled chicken breast sliced on top with SIX croutons! My friend had the same so didn't get the chance to see what other choices were like.
Will probably have a baked potato with tuna as well so minimal syns for some salad cream.0 -
1/2lb on for me, not that happy, but when I realised I had eaten out more than I thought over the weekend, coupled with not enough speed, it is not so bad.
Going home tomorrow, so no idea what I will be eating, as long as Mum eats, it will be the same for me. She has not been that well for the last couple of days so the palliative care team were seeing her today, she has been avoiding this for as long as possible, but if they can work something out that means she can stay at home, she will be happier.
Lovely day here, no idea what the results of the election are going to be, our count does not start until 5 and that is the mayoral one, council one starts afterwards. As long as the incumbents are kicked out!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Only a tiny gain @Gettingtherequickly - sure you'll have that off in no time at all. Hope all gets sorted with your DMum, it's not easy xx
