Morning everyone,
I have a niggly cough so didn't sleep well. Another WFH day today so will see what that brings. DBIL and his children are coming today but DH will have to entertain them for the most part.
I started off well yesterday then the chocolates came calling. Despite enjoying them, I do need to rein it in today to limit the damage at WI tomorrow. I have not planned a single meal this week as we've been using up leftovers, so that stops today.
Food today:
B - mango, satsuma, grapes - some S
L - tuna, salad leaves, tomatoes - P, S
D - chicken with creamy leeks (Take 5 book), carrots, green beans - P, S, 0.5 syn
HEA - milk
HEB - hi fi bar
Syns - 0.5
Really hope your DDad stays clear of any infections @bubbs - sending hugs xx

Morning all, what a horrible day! The forecast is for rain for at least the next few days, think the next dry day is Monday so Monday will definitely be washing day as there will be plenty in the laundry bin by then!
What makes the leeks creamy in that recipe @Coxy11? Knowing SW probably quark or fromage frais!
Not many LOs from Christmas here although there is still some Christmas cake and some mini shortbread Christmas trees - they're tiny and work out at 1.5 syns each so DH can have all of those as well as the cake! The only SW friendly food left is gammon which we'll be having for dinner tomorrow night.
So today's plan:
B - cheese omelette - HEA2; P
L - tuna and cucumber sandwich - HEB; P; S; 1
D - pork steak, mash, green veg - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - LTL mayo 1; couple of rum & ginger beer 5
Have a good day everyone.

Lots of horrible diseases around at the moment. Do hope your dad doesn't catch anything @bubbs.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Yes @joedenise it's FFFF and I need to go buy it, but change of plan! BIL has invited us to his as his SIL is there with her 2 children. He will 'do food' - he's a good cook but I have no idea what will be served. I've had fruit for BF and tuna salad and pickles for lunch, plus a hifi bar. Will need to be good at BIL's.
In SW group news - we now have a consultant. It's the temp consultant who took over when our other consultant left. She's now purchased the franchise again and has had to redo the training! She's relaunching the group on 7 Jan and I've offered to be on pay/weigh whenever is needed, plus there's probably leafletting to do. She has a limited number of recipe packs to give out tomorrow at group so hopefully I'll get one.
Taking today as a win so far as no 'real' chocolate has been consumed!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings1 -
Thanks for that @Coxy11. Good you've got a permanent consultant now and well done for volunteering for the social team. I used to be on the ST at my old group but with going away so often it's not feasible now. Quite honestly the recipe packs are nothing to write home about!
Well done on leaving the chocolate alone! Hope this evening's meal turns out to be SW friendly, if not you'll just have to go with the flow and rein it back in after WI tomorrow.

🤞🏼for some SW friendly food with your BIL @Coxy11. And well done for volunteering for the Social team. I've never been a regular member but consultant knows I'm more than willing to help out when I'm there so sometimes do the raffle or just chat to new members.
Thanks for telling us about your planned new look @annabanana82. It sounds really good. I'm another that wore all black and baggy until I lost weight. I'm sure you'll enjoy choosing some colour. Have you thought about highlights/lowlights as they can still look OK as they grow out? 🤔
The' chicken pie filling' meal I did the other day (with turkey) is sort of with creamy leeks @joedenise. I got the idea on Jamie Oliver
Chicken pot pie with puff pastry | Jamie Oliver pie recipes
then found this Slimming Eats recipe
Chicken and Leek Pie | Slimming Eats
So I include the mushrooms from the JO but add leeks as well as onions. I like the cheesy flavour too rather than just milk. This week I tried using Laughing Cows for the first time but had a big problem getting them to melt. I must buy some more Primula but the price has shot up and the package size has gone down. 🤔 I stir in leaves and serve it on a bed of more leaves with chips or hassleback potatoes rather than use pastry or mash.
Yesterday I batch cooked some Delia's red cabbage and some swede & carrot mash for the freezer. It was the first time I'd done the red cabbage in the SC and it worked brilliantly. I've got more to do from Veg Wars so hope to get that done over the weekend plus some Bolognese as there's none left in the freezer. We're having to have penne or similar at the moment as DH can't manage spaghetti with one hand! 🤣
I did my meal plan and shop this afternoon so all sorted to get back on plan properly next Monday. I haven't touched the chocolates I bought for myself as was given 2 boxes of cherry liqueurs. I'm going to leave the unopened ones until I'm back in range then eke them out as syns allow. DH will eat all other LOs like biscuits and crisps. There's one meal's worth of gammon which I plan to freeze tonight.
Today's EE plan-
B HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S)
L- sardine salad (P,S), lentil soup (P,S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), carrot chips, salad, mushrooms (S)
Syns- LTL mayo 1 and whatever else??
