Not seen any 🐖 flying by just yet @SingleSue! 🤣 I do hope one of your siblings steps up, you need a break.
Hope you haven't had too stressful a day @Coxy11. The last thing you needed was snoring keeping you awake. ☹️
How are you all today @bubbs? 🤔
I did my food shop this afternoon and it was effortless. 👍 I only needed fresh stuff so easy and quick. I'll get bread on Saturday as usually we only have bread in the freezer but will need for sandwiches.
I made a version of Tom Kerridge's bacon and broccoli pasta for lunch, using up some LO sauce from meatballs. It was yummy. 😋 Will definitely put on the menu for a main meal in the New Year.
Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks, scrambled eggs (P)
L- bacon and broccoli pasta (P, A, F), HEA 2 Parmesan
D- liver, bacon (P), onions, carrots, greens (S), mash, LO gravy (F)
Syns-getting a taste for red wine 🤣0 -
Have to say I much prefer red wine to white, although don't mind white or rose in the summer when it's warmer! I had some non alcoholic red the other night but definitely wouldn't bother again! It was like drinking very sweet Ribena - in fact I think Ribena would have been nicer!
Is the Tom Kerridge recipe on line? Sounds nice - and easy! Will have to have a look to see if I can find it.

Yes @joedenise, the recipe is online. It's one that he did for M&S. I had the basic tomato, onion and basil recipe that I use for meatballs but I'm sure his peppers and chilli would be good. I did my pasta separately (his is one pot) as didn't think I had enough liquid to cook together.
I used to be the same as you with wine but, a couple of summers ago, I switched to white and didn't go back I always share red when out with with friends though although I also enjoy prosecco, especially at 24 syns a bottle! 👍 Basically I'll have anything that's going. 🤣1 -
I’ve just popped the stuffed pasta shells from “slimming eats” website in the oven. It smells divine and allegedly 1 HEa. The shells are stuffed with ricotta and spinach and they are nestled into a bed of rich tomato and veg sauce that is blended up to be smooth and topped with Parmesan.
The only other food I’ve had today has been a banana, a slice of pizza (eek) some grapes and copious herbal tea - always have one on the go at work to slurp between patients.
not the best day food wise but the best I can do just now. Large salad to be served up with the pasta and then that is me done eating for today. No HEb but more than15 syns I feel. Ho hum.
sorry to hear you’ve had a funny turn coxy. You should get yourself checked out. Low blood pressure can make you feel a bit like that.
we’ve been watching the traitors and it’s the finale tonight so I think I’ll get ready for bed before it and then have a relatively early night.
Bubbs, I hope your dad gets out before Christmas and your mum has managed to recharge a bit.1 -

Thanks @maman - have checked out the recipe - looks good for when we have a pasta meal - which to be honest isn't very often as I'm not keen on pasta; would much rather have rice which is probably why we eat quite a lot of curries! No really very keen on fizzy wine although quite enjoyed a cava or three while we were in Lanzarote - including a glass given to us while we checked in!
@Matron_Midge - just checked out that recipe and it's definitely only 1 HEA. Sounds like another one which I might give a go as quite like ricotta and spinach cannelloni - probably my favourite pasta of the lot!
Don't beat yourself up over the pizza - it's definitely Good when you can and Careful when you can't at this time of year.

Evening all
Still positive 😫😫 but i have discovered what the horrible , vile taste is.......i never woke up with it today , had a few cuppas then lunchtime opened a pepsi max had a sip and bang!! vile taste back, so been on water since.
Dad has been moved wards, i couldn't get hold of Mum and was worried incase she was at the hospital, so i rang the ward and they told me he had been moved , i asked if he was ok and they said yes as they wouldn't move him otherwise as that is just an assessment ward.
I rang the other ward and doctor was with dad.
I then remembered it was Thursday and my BIL was taking Mum to get some fresh veg.
I spoke to her about 1pm , she was trying to get through to the ward, but she got upset and said don't think Dad will be home for Christmas, but as long as he comes home she said 😪 so of course we then both got upset.
She said she couldn't keep awake last night, sat down to watch Corrie and woke up at 11, then pulled herself to bed as with sorting Dad out forgot to take her own tablets and the pain was terrible. She woke at 6.30 for the loo, got back in bed and woke up at 9 😂
I have eaten more or less properly today, i had soft pitta with bacon and egg in at lunctime, just had jacket potato and cheese with side saladSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0 -
Oh you poor things Bubbs. It’s awful when you are just waiting for news.
Im glad you’ve eaten well today.
just popped back on to say the stuffed pasta was really lovely. Nothing left on any plates or in the dish. It’s a bit of a faff to make but it was worth it.0 -
Sounds delicious @Matron_Midge. You did well to go to so much effort but just proves what delicious meals you can have on SW. 😋
It's hard on your mum @bubbs but she did manage lots of sleep which is a good thing. 👍
Delighted to hear you've enjoyed your food for the first time in days. 😁0 -
Thanks everyone, update
Just come off the phone to Mum, she has been to see Dad 👏👏👏👏 as since he has moved wards allowed visitors
She sounded so happy 😁 although was dreading seeing him as had spoke to the doctor this afternoon and they said he was bleeding from his back passage and would probably need a blood transfusion and he was confused. When they got there, she said he looked amazing, like his old self, was not confused just didn't know how he got to the hospital, Mum said we had to put you in a wheel chair and this upset him and made him cry 😪 but Mum said he wouldn't have remembered that as he was out of it.
He wasn't bleeding, bleeding just a little bit BUT probably because they were giving him dairy!! Nothing on his notes to say he was dairy free, they had NOTHING for him to eat 😫 My sister went down the shop got some dairy free cake, biscuits and chocolate so he was happy then and she took some milk from Mum's back up to the hospital on her way back home,Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0
