11Fabulous loss @SingleSue well done xx
OMG @joedenise think of all that extra wine you could have had lol!!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings1 -
I fully expect a gain next week as we have mum's birthday dinner on Friday, her party/event on Saturday and middle son's birthday meal out on Monday.
I'll obviously be on plan on the in between days to limit the damage but I am holding out no hope for a weight loss next week.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

@SingleSue As we always say on here "Good when you can and careful when you can't". Just try to make the best choices at the party and the birthday meal out. I know you said you save syns to have a treat on weigh day but perhaps leave the treats until the weekend and Monday. You can at least have a good chance of STS or just a very small gain. Good luck whatever you choose to do.Coxy11 said:11Fabulous loss @SingleSue well done xx

What a good loss @SingleSue. I have one anniversary and one birthday next week so will try and be good(if poss) . I have found that as I have hidden myself away last couple years when I do go out I have what takes my fancy and really make sure cut back with few syns as poss.

Well done on your loss @SingleSue. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I think we all have to do what works for us or we'd give up. Personally, I'd just enjoy the 3 celebration meals out @SingleSue and then get back to your usual eating. That being said, I do find I migrate to SW friendly choices on menus but can rarely resist some of the beige food on buffets (spring rolls, crisps, samosas😋). I know exactly what you mean @Vegastare. We were all indoors long enough during lockdowns that it's important to socialise when the opportunity comes along.
Fortunately, I like all sorts of wine depending on my mood and/or the time of year. One time in group, when I had a loss, my consultant asked what I'd done differently that week. She looked aghast when I said I'd had Aldi prosecco (only 24 syns a bottle) but lots in the group were eagerly making a note! 🤣
As I had a low syn weekend I'm having a number of meals with syns in midweek which is unusual for me. Yesterday's sausages were 1.5 syns each unlike my usual 0.5 syn ones but need using up. Today it's Morrison's fishcakes (2) and tomorrow we're having corned beef hash which is about 5 (or less when I remove visible fat from corned beef).
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, baked beans (F), bacon, fried egg (P)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), spring onion, beetroot, tomato (S)
D- fishcake, potato cubes (F), carrots, TS broccoli, sugar snap peas, roast tomatoes, mushroom (S)

For mum's open house party like affair, I'm in charge of food, I can't make any of it now (I used to organise, prepare and cook the entire buffets in years past) but my role is that of a very loud and bossy major, ordering the troops around but it does mean that I can organise sandwiches that I can eat using my HEB bread and HEA cheese plus mum has ordered a gorgeous and unadulterated fish platter which will all be completely free of syns. I'm not saying a sausage roll or cocktail sausage won't stray into my mouth but I'll try my hardest for them not to.
Friday is carvery, I'll hold back and go easy on the stuffing and potatoes and be more frugal on the gravy although I have to be careful otherwise I will end up with a near empty plate as the only veg available that I can load the plate with is carrots and mum might get upset.
On the bright side, I don't need to save syns for alcohol as I rarely drink (last one was at the very beginning of July, before that was New years eve). It's not because of being goody goody but because in the past I never knew when I would be needed to drive (father with health issues, husband now ex with diabetes and addisons and disabled children), that I got out of the habit of drinking at home plus interaction with my pain meds and of course, cost.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. Morning all,
I've woken with painful hands - think my OA is not liking the change of temperature plus all the decorating lol! We rubbed down the box room wood and undercoated it last night plus moved our office furniture back into the dining room/home office space. Had a lovely spag bol with DS1 and fiancee - I slow cooked it mmmmmm.
I need to pop out at lunchtime for dinner supplies plus fruit. Will get the Greggs sweet potato bhaji and rice if they have it - just fancy something different today. If not, I will find something equivalent in Sains (I have a giftcard to use). I didn't food shop at the weekend so a bit Mother Hubbard here.....
Food will be:
B - 2 WM toast with 2 tsp jam - HEB, 1
L - (hopefully) Greggs sweet potato bhaji and rice - 4
D - to be decided once I've been shopping!
HEA - milk
HEA - babybel
Syns - 5 planned
Have a good day all

Morning all. Well done on the loss @SingleSue - if we go out to eat, I always try and have something that I wouldn't be prepared to cook at home, like a steak (because of the money as you say) or some nice seabass (because DH doesn't like fish). Hope you enjoy your celebrations though!
I've been a bit more achey than usual @Coxy11 and definitely think it's the change in weather. Have seen a lot of people post about the Greggs bhaji meal but my local never seems to have any in.
Carpenter is back again today - loving the look of the new doors, not looking forward to all the impending painting! Haven't had any breakfast as star week is leaving me feeling rather bloated, but I have some thai sweet potato soup sitting in the soup maker ready to go later for lunch. Dinner tonight is the leftover sweet and sour tofu I had on Tuesday - but this time I might crisp up the tofu in my new air fryer!
