Thanks both and she knows she won't get any tonight as she told him she is going to work in the charity shop she used to volunteer in tomorrow because he has been playing her up. The best of it is he has 2 sleeping tablets a night, goes bed about 10.30, he had her up 5 times before 1.30 😱 for the last 3 nights 😥

@bubbs, so sorry to hear your dad is playing your mum up so much.  Not a long term solution but could your mum sleep in another room so you has a chance of at least some sleep?  or do you think that he'd still keep her awake?

Maybe some sort of respite care even though your dad doesn't want to and wants to stay at home.  Your mum definitely needs a bit of respite from having to put up with your dad's playing up.

Perhaps the doctor could give your mum so sleeping tablets too so that she can get some sleep!

WI in this morning and haven't stuck to the 5-15 syns a day this week - I basically went back to my old way of the 105 syn bank!  It will be interesting to see whether it's helped shift a bit of weight when I go to WI this morning.  Everything has been so up in the air this week with food and not stuck to my meal plans at all!

I made the hash brown base for the pizza last night in the end so when I get home all I need to do is  put on the toppings and slice over the mozzarella and stick in the Remoska until the cheese has melted so we should be able to eat at a fairly reasonable time.

Back later with how I've done with the weight loss!

    Good luck at WI @joedenise

Sorry to hear about your parents' struggles @bubbs, it's such an awful situation. Definitely contact Macmillan and see what they can do to help. Is he waking up to use the bathroom or because he's in pain/discomfort? Do they need to adjust his meds?

I logged on and cleared my emails (299 of them) yesterday. A lot were obsolete/general comms from higher up. Did some cross stitching last night and watched the Lionesses match. DH went to see his friend alone as just boys, so all good. We had SW Mexican chicken from the Take 5 book. There are 2 portions left to freeze for work lunches. I won't be going in this week though as boss on leave. My scarf for Lewy is still a WIP @maman!

Went to T's for some baked beans as none in the cupboard and forgot to put them on the list for A!di. Got a single tin of Bran$ton - 80p - I mean come on - 80p!!! Baked beans used to be a staple growing up - doubt families could afford them now. Yes I could have bought Ts own or Stockwe!! but I find they have more sauce than bean! No price on the shelf either, so didn't know until I went through the self-service checkout.

    Today's food:
    B - poached egg, grilled bacon, mushrooms, baked beans - P, S
L - mackerel in tomato sauce, 3 Ryvita Rye cakes, lettuce, toms, pickles - P, HEB, S
D - SW chilli prawn spaghetti - Free
    HEA - milk
    HEA - mini babybel
    Syns - hi fi bar - 3

    Have a good day all,
    Coxy

oh Bubbs it's not easy, I hope your mum gets some support soon.

    Good luck for WI @joedenise

I had to work late last night to finish up a job so DS stuck a pizza in the oven thinking he was helping me out and we could share it with some salad.  Pizza! He now knows how many syns per slice  :D and got to eat it all himself (which he didn't complain about!).

I threw three waffles in the oven while it was on and, talking of beans @Coxy11, had a tin of Aldi baked beans with it!  I actually quite like them and at 44p a tin or thereabouts delicious IMO :D  No speed but for 6 syns it hit the spot and was filling enough that I didn't snack the rest of the night.

    Today's food:
    B - yoghurt, strawberries, pineapple
L - tuna salad, beetroot (1.5 syns for salad cream)
D - last night's dinner - steak, chips and roasted veg

    Have a good day all.

Morning all.  Hope your parents can get some advice on the situation @bubbs - definitely sounds like the meds need to be reviewed.

Good luck with weigh in @joedenise, don't see why the syn bank won't have worked but then again SW seems to act in mysterious ways sometimes!

80p for a tin of beans is crazy @Coxy11.  Glad to hear you got through the emails so quickly - I still have about 50 to deal with from a random day off a couple of weeks ago 😆

Visit to the GP practice was a lot smoother than I was expecting yesterday, and was in and out in 2 minutes.  They're going to issue a new prescription today so should be able to pick something up on Saturday 🤞  Feeling very tired this morning and we're having big IT issues with work so lots of coffee needed today I think.  Breakfast was bran flakes with milk and blueberries, lunch is a tuna salad and then dinner is a tomato and pepper risotto.

Hope everyone has a good day!

    Afternoon all

Thanks everyone, No they tried sleeping apart but Dad just wanders in with his pillow like a little child 😂

Mum can't take sleeping tablets as she does have to get up at least once to change his bag, sometimes twice, but usually they go straight back to sleep, doesn't help she is in agony with her knee :(

    Hope WI went well

Coxy no he is not in pain, or says he is not but tbh he is not very good expressing himself.

I told Mum what McMillian said so let's she if she does it , bet she never went charity shop for a few hrs because she was whittling on the phone, but i won't know till later but said if you do ring the doctors there and McMillian so he can't hear you.

Glad you got on OK at the doctors Ruby.

I have had melon and ham for breakfast

half a bowl of salad which was horrible, 3 baby bel hexa , 2 boiled eggs hi fi 3 syns or 1/2 hexa and 2 plums

No idea what i want for tea 😏

Back again having been to WI, done a bit of shopping, come home and had some lunch.  Now just sitting down with a nice cup of tea!

Do hope your mum speaks to McMillan @bubbs and gets some help.  She's not really helping herself or your dad by running herself into the ground.

You don't usually have a problem deciding what you want for tea and I've certainly never heard you say that salad was horrible!  What was wrong with it or is it just that you're concerned about your parents?

WI was OK and I was happy with a maintain!  I had expected a gain after a couple of very high syn days, especially drinking wine on Monday to celebrate my friend finally moving in!  I think I may have been overdoing it a bit as my blood pressure is sky high at the moment and my eyes are bloodshot!  They look horrible.

    So today's plan:

    B - sweet soufflé omelette, strawberries & grapes - P; S; F
    L - hash. brown pizza, SW frozen chips - P; S; F; HEA2; 8.5 😲
    D - butter chicken, rice - P; S; F; 2.5

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - mozzarella
HEB - nothing planned buy have some bars which I could have if I want something sweet

    Syns - extra mozzarella 6; chorizo 2.5; butter 2.5

Hope everyone is having a good day.

STS is good after your week @joedenise. You've had to chop and change your meal plan so often and eat out a couple of times. You must have been angelic in between. Well done. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Glad to hear your prescription was easy to sort @ruby_eskimo.😊

I do hope your mum acts on some of the advice you're giving her @bubbs but you can't force her which makes it all the more difficult for you. 🤗

We buy Waitrose baked beans @Coxy11 . The tins are a bit smaller than usual but they are still good value for money, especially in packs of 4 which we always get.

There's a deadline for the Lewy scarf in a couple of weeks which is why I got it sorted.

Well done for not joining in with the pizza @Jellybaby. It would have been so easy after a long, working day. Good that your DS is being educated in syn values though. 🤣

I went to Sainsbury's earlier (wine is 25% off😉) and picked up 2 YS packs of BGTY sausages. The Princes mackerel in mustard sauce is on offer too at  £1.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks, bacon, fried egg (P), baked beans (F)
L- LO hash and veg (P,F,S), fried egg (P), pickled cabbage (S)
    D- SW Bolognese (P,S), spaghetti (F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Syns- 0

    Hi All

Maman  do Sainsbury tomorrow and can you tell me about the sausages you get on are they low syn.

Another question is what is the hash brown pizza!!

Bubbs sorry to read about your folks, not fully in the picture ( only just come back) but not sure how bad Dad is but MacMillan can arrange Marie Curie to stay over on occasional night to help Mum get a goodnights sleep.  Not sure what the criteria is that meets this though, worth look into if Mum didn't mind person in home.

Well bit of a delay in my posting and Bubbs after your recent photo made no crust quiche for tonight and tomorrows lunch.

Him is away and while I think wow some me time he never fails to over turn it - just getting round to lunch and he has me looking at a carpark he could get card payment at.  Hour later and mad post on MSE I think it is sorted.

    So
Br porridge (water and some skimmed) low fat plain yog blueberries
Lunch ham lettuce and tom open sandwich (wholemeal) tsp low fat may
Dinner quiche green beans and beetroot

    HE A is 250milk skimmed
    HE A 30gr cheddar(in quiche)
    HE B porridge

Syns  2.5 mayo  3 for slice bread.  Hifi bar maybe 3
Is the bread a syn as made porridge - thought it was 2 HE B not quite back in swing yet.  May have Hi fi bar when watching TV.

Shout out if I make mistakes.

Have a good rest of the day.

They're Sainsburys Be Good to Yourself Cumberland sausages @Vegastare They're 1 syn each. I like the Aldi skinny sausages too. They're only 0.5 syn. The skins are a bit chewy but they taste good.

It's 2 x HEA but, sadly, only 1x HEB. So, a slice of wholemeal is 6 syns. I don't think light mayo is 2.5 for a tsp though. I'll check. 🤔

ETA - slice of wholemeal is 5 and light mayo is about half for a tsp so not too bad.

Well done for getting back on plan. 👍
