    Morning all:wave:

Haven't been over here for a couple of days, so not up to speed with whats going on yet. [Will try and catch up later :o ] I've had my hospital test results back, and they're not great, so I spent a couple of days in self pity, which made me feel guilty as there are people worse off than me.:o

Mouse poison has been working as I've come across a couple of dead mice just lying on the floor:eek:. The poison is still being eaten though, so the one I thought I had was obviously one of many  . Thankfully, I caught the one in my bedroom though.

Back to today, and WM is on - I've changed my sheets today, so hopefully they can go on the line. DD1's were done yesterday and DD2's will be done tomorrow, which will hopefully save wet sheets hanging around the house. The girls have double beds with a double and single quilt on, and I have a king size with ks and single quilt on, so you can imagine how much bed laundry we would have around the house.

Will be posting the last of my christmas cards today, then DD2 has her annual asthma review later and DD1 has an appointment with the nurse. That's pretty much it for today then. Just the usual putting things back in the place they go, as the girls haven't mastered that one yet:rolleyes:

Has anyone made handwash from soap slithers? I saw it mentioned on another thread, so will read up on it today then attempt to turn our bits into a decent handwash.

Glad to hear you're feeling better AMIE399, and your mom is feeling a lot brighter with the peg fitted hilstep2000

Sorry to hear about your job PenPen

    Have a nice holiday N9eav

:grouphug: HUGS :grouphug: to all who need or want one today.

    Have a great day all

Rant Alert: :p We got a letter from the Elec Board today to tell us that our power is going off on Tuesday from 7.30am to 3pm for maintenance. Why don't they schedule these things in winter  but oh no, 1 week before Xmas, stinking hot weather and everyone's fridges/freezers no doubt are brimming. It's a long time for them to be off.

But Aussie - it IS winter - it's freezing cold here! Apparently, as long as you don't keep opening the fridges and freezers, they'll stay cold enough for up to 12 hours, so yours should be OK. Loved your adaptation of Haribo's daily chores, by the way!

    Morning All

Got into work this morning to find a really snotty handover from my colleague basically making out like I don't know how to do my job:mad: Since she's been made my senior, she's got so up herself. I really hope this job I've heard about comes to light as I really do need to get out of here. Horrible manager's in again today. Hoping I can get everything done so I can leave on time. Normally I have to work really late on a Friday, but I so don't want to.

Freezing in the office as usual. Got a nice cuppa in front of me and slowly syphoning off chocolates the manager's bought for the office.

Got some more bits for Christmas at Mr T yesterday and saved about £6. on a £15 spend:T

Right, off to do my daily clicks to earn a couple of pence

    Hope everyone's ok

PENPEN - sorry to hear about the bad news - just at the time when lots of people need financial help and advice.

    PIPKIN - (((hugs))) to you.

SCUZZ - hope you get the job of your dreams soon - you deserve it.

Well, I don't know why I came back on here - 'just for five minutes', I said, 'that's all', but then I got to reading all the posts that came after mine and now it's ten minutes later. Still, I've cleaned the bathroom, tidied bedrooms, put stuff ready for shopping (I have a £6 off £60 voucher for the Co-op so will make good use of that - with all the vouchers they have sent me, I'll have saved around £30 over the Christmas period!), written half a shopping list, put the BM on with some dough for rolls, decided we're having a really easy dinner - steak pie, chips and gravy - a complete no-brainer so I don't have to think about proper food prepping (sorry, though, it's a shop-bought pie I found when I was turning out the freezer - not very OS but even less so if I throw it out to make HM!), and put the WM on, so I haven't lazed about completely.

Anyway, I'm going to drag myself away from here and get a move on. See you all later.

  • Morning all,

Is absolutely freezing here this morning. :snow_laug Just looked out of the window and the frost is so thick on the roads and cars that it looks like snow. Very pretty actually but bit worried about DS1 driving in it to work. Still a very new driver.

It's his final day today at the college so he's really excited. His new employer sent him his starter pack (forms for wages dept etc) yesterday so he's eager to start after xmas. He now gets a nice long holiday of 3 weeks off work. Really looking forward to having him home. :D He's away to stay with his cousins in their flat this weekend, so will be a nice start to his hols.

SIL just let me know that she's coming down for a cuppa in a couple of hours with nephew. Great for the company but the house is upsidedown. Have to get into crisis mode and blitz it. Off to make some rainbow buns so that we've something to munch on while we're setting the world right over a cuppa.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Your poor neighbours tired mum:eek:

The thought of being burgled terrifies me, even more so at this time of year, and although we are insured, it would be a horrible, horrible thing to have to go through.

Rainbow buns sound lovely cheerfulness4 - would you mind posting the recipe after your family have visited.

Here's D&DD's recipe for Rainbow Buns. Her carrot cake is the best I've tasted, too :T
