Evening turtles
NSD#2 for me. WfH then went into the office for midday. Helped another team out all afternoon - was nice to sit with different colleagues who were welcoming and friendly. Had a walk this evening and did some tidying and decluttering in the small bedroom. Sat in bed at 9pm catching up on a few tasks for my PT jobs.
Gratitudes - DD2 happily going back to uni flat and having a nice eve with her friends; DD1 having a birthday celebration for their dog; colleague at PT job #2 thanking me for being so efficient

Tuesday’s missed updateDS is now 5! He loved his 5 balloon. It was probably his favourite present - everyone could have saved their money 😂. Spent a bit more than planned yesterday as we went to a pricier place for DS’s birthday lunch. I had an ‘eating with our hands’ type place in mind but we found ourselves fiddling with chopsticks. Anyway it was a great day and DS had a ball! I hope he has some memories of it.Grateful for being alive, to be with DS on his 5th birthday, and for our family.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸10

Today I am grateful for the bright tulips sprouting all over the place, for dc's sleepover going well, for free workouts on utube, for an easy tea, for inspiring threads to read on here, for dh taking charge of buying presents for his dd1 and her family when they come over next week.

worked from home, every thing I tried to do had a query on it so felt unproductive today.Had a very good parents evening for DS. Really proud of him. He had the big M for tea as a treat (paid for by DH so keeping my NSD). DH and I had our normal tea as planned to be healthy!Completed 2 jobs off my declutter challenge although more of a clean and tidy as nothing much got rid of.
All my cheap, out door plans for Easter holidays are in jeopardy looking at the weather! Will need a back up plan I think.
Feels like it’s been a long full on week. I’m looking forward to the weekend and 2 weeks of DS being off school.Grateful for:
DS great parents evening

ldee - glad you all had a lovely family celebration for DS
Achieved another NSD. Woke up late so didn't make it to the office till 10.30am, oops. Stayed till 6pm. Took a bag to the charity shop at lunch. Had a walk this evening and called on DD1's bestie who has been ill with Covid, had a chat from the front garden.
Gratitudes - being on flexitime! driving the scenic route to work; early nights with hot water bottles

Happy birthday Idee jr. Well done BBK jr for a good parents evening. A fun (& cheap) activity we used to do, was play sausages & mash. Find their favourite book & as you read, any word that starts with 's' say sausage instead, & any word beginning with 'm' say mash. If you accidentally miss a word, it's the other person's turn. Once you get good at it, you can add in cake, apples, whatever you fancy!
NSD#3
Very wet & windy today. Decided against walking to the village for a loaf of bread. Did lots of cleaning instead. Phoned my auntie in England (haven't spoken on the phone since our holiday there last October, but have emailed), then phoned my mum. Removed some wood from the temporary wall. Hubby busy doing other things, so did some sewing. Felt a bit hacked off, so read my book for an hour. Told hubby I was on holiday from one job, & hadn't planned to spend it doing my other (sewing) job & cleaning the whole time & I wanted to do the porch before returning to work, so I wasn't working 2 jobs & trying to fit porch stuff in too! Felt a bit better after I'd got it off my chest! Spent the evening knitting.
Grateful for phone chats with family, reading my book, getting more knitting doneUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

NSD 2. Attempted a recipe by the hairy men who ride bikes. It did not work out well. I’m not blaming the recipe book for my dinner failure, but it’s now in the charity bag. 😂Grateful today for lie-in, for the relaxing sound of rain, and for leftover cake and tea.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸7

Sorry I was AWOL. I got chilled sitting for 8 hrs doing an urgent but repetitive job at work last week while the doors were open. Got shivers and a horrible cough/cold. Been testing regularly but clear so far.
This week we are under pressure again to achieve ridiculous deadlines (which could be solved once and for all with proper management) so weren't allowed a tea break yesterday afternoon. I thought this was illegal now. Like mugs we carried on working but I was mad with myself and ready to refuse if they tried it on again today. Male work colleague asked if we could have the 15 minutes in lieu but apparently not as we're already paid for them. Cherry on the cake: they've got plenty of overtime if I want it. Big fat raspberry to that one!
Just confirms my thoughts that I nolonger want to work 3 day week but need to see how utility price increases affect my money situation before cutting down to 2 days.
Collected the charity necklace kits on the way home on Monday night. Have already threaded 5 up with about another 12 to do. Quite therapeutic whilst watching tv. Will drop them off next week after work. Also dropped off a box of little toys, animals and bangles so that's cleared a space.
OH has to take motorbike for a service tomorrow morning. I've said I'll collect him from the garage if they want to keep it for a bit. A full fried breakfast was mentioned so I don't mind!
Have paid for green garden bin service and set up DD for water bill for my mum. I need to pay holiday balance by Saturday. Can't wait to get away to the seaside!
DS sent me a lovely message about his childhood, probably brought on by Mothering Sunday. He thanked me for picking all the bits he didn't like (onions, mushrooms) off his pizzas, putting his beans next to his toast and not on it, and teaching him to drive without being s**t about any of it. It choked me up a bit as his dad died when my son was 14 and we had a horrible few years before and after that. This note really means a lot to me especially when you can beat yourself up about being a parent.
Gratitudes: 1#NSD, the really lovely note from my son, no more work this week. X
