NST April 2022: April opportunities

Hi turtles, I had a lovely slow morning, did some skipping and cycling on the static bike and cleaned the flat in preparation for bf's return.
Had a realisation r.e. studying, my mind is always racing ahead and thinking what I can do next, when I've only been in my current job for a year and I need to focus on getting good at that. I also need to focus on my spanish more than anything, so I will aim to do the next official exam next april and then see what's what.
Yesterday I spent the day pottering and planted up some lettuce, tomato and pepper seeds. fewer quantities than last year as my little balcony got a bit overwhelmed and then everything died in the august heat. I also planted a little packet of mixed wild flower seeds that I got with a candle for that december day. Walked to the charity shop to donate huge bin bag of clothes, had a look around but wasn't in the mood to buy anything, then went home and baked some soda bread with chickpea flour. Was disgusting and went straight in the bin!
No NSD yesterday and won't be today as we are planning to go out to a new place for a pizza this evening, but it seems fairly cheap. We will also have a walk in the sunshine which will be freee!
Have a great day turtles

beanielou said:Deni~~I don't know how you do it.
You are always doing something.
Good news on the dressing table.
My sis says we can do anything but we can't do everything - i don't do everything, what i fail on is the housework. My kitchen, bathroom and living area are clean and fairly tidy but my bedroom is an absolute stateIt depresses me and it is not a relaxing place to be. So this year i'm focusing on sorting my bedroom and working lots so i can overpay my mortgage.
This morning i have been sorting through paperwork, most has been recycled or shredded but i did find 30 euros too
mothernerd - hope you are feeling ok today and having a restful time - that was a lovely assistant in b00ts too

Shrewbie - that sounded like you were skipping on the bike!!!Beanie - definitely having a lovely weekend in the apple house, thanks. Hope you are too 😎.Today I am grateful for getting out for a little run this morning, for another good drying day, for dc enjoying bouldering, for having compost to pot up a couple of plants (baby steps in my quest for back garden domination!), for dh + friend working on mending a wooden sill on the bin cupboard, for pro bull riding and finding out that there's a Calgary Stampede so now it's time to do some research on dates and try to get out there and see stepdd1 as well, for sneezing in the garden and a neighbour 3 doors down saying 'bless you!'.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!8

Picked up Mum from airport today and was surprised and proud to see my work on display at arrivals!
As part of my job I designed a 'welcome/help point' banner for Ukrainians arriving in Scotland. I knew it was for the airport but I wasn't expecting to see it there so soon. Instead of watching for my Mum coming through the arrivals gate, I was watching other people to see if they looked at my banner.OK, it's not 'my' banner, but it's my work and I hope it's reassuring and helpful to Ukrainian refugees arriving here. I'll count this in April's challenge as one of my 'identify things you do well and celebrate them'.
Mum came through arrivals, I gave her a big hug, and then said "Look at my banner!"
Lovely to have her back.
Nipped into the home of sausage rolls on the way home to grab us all some grub. That and the airport parking means no NSD.
xx

How exciting ldee2111 !
I've continued my quest for bedroom tranquility, done the tiniest bit of work for one of my PT jobs, found my Easter decs (just in time!), dropped off a card for a friend, hoovered out my car.
Achieved 10k steps and a NSD.

That’s really exciting @Idee2111
Spent a few hours in the garden today, really warm out there. Did some weeding, mowing and tidying and repotted a new buddleia (just as Mothernerd is hacking hers down!) I know they can get a bit out of control but I need something fast growing to cover up all the stuff I have dumped behind the shed and bees and butterflies love them.
No NSD as had to go to Mr T and get the stuff I had forgotten to put on the shopping list. I seem to have lost the will to live shopping wise at the moment, must remember to meal plan and get back on track.
Today I am grateful for a beautiful day, my garden looking neat and tidy and a visit from sil and nephew.8 -
Still stuck on 7/16 NSD as wanted fish & chips for tea!
Budgets all looking ok but I’m struggling clothes wise with the warmer weather. Need a proper sort out.
Had a lie in then cleaned the house. DH cut the grass, gardens look so much better.
Dropped Easter eggs to various people and my friend called in to drop one off for ds so we had a nice catch up & a brew.
Grateful for:
House & gardens all looking loved
generous friends & family
