A cold, windy day. Went for a walk with hubby, rain as we set off, then face wind on our return, I had to walk with a horizontal bend! Keep getting shin splints, though didn't yesterday on my longer walk
Washed the dishes, then after dinner, I wrapped up warm & spent 2 hours moving rubble & soil from a trench. Still lots to do. The fence along the front of the garden is rocking in the wind. No room to dig out the concrete the rotting posts are in, so we have to build the wall behind it sooner rather than later. DH has already done halfway along the whole width, many years ago, a couple of breeze block walls, then faced with stone (some small alcoves left open for nesting birds). It has to be this thick, as we live on the main road to our village, & 15.5 years ago we had a fatal car crash in our garden on DS2's 2nd birthday.
Absolutely shattered, using muscles not used for a long time, read my book a bit, then cut out 2 memory bears & made a fire.
Grateful for a bath with Epsom salts, sense of achievement seeing the rubble pile grow in its new spot, selling 2 more coins on eboyUse it up, wear it out

Thrifty that sounds a very upsetting thing to happen
I'm enjoying being on leave but feel like I've been in the car for most of it! Actually spent 21 hours in the car between Sat-Tues. Yesterday i drove DD2 back to her uni flat; we took the scenic route and stopped off for lunch and a walk. She made tea and i drove back once she was ready for bed - got home after midnight.
Today i will not be getting in my car and will not be spending any money! Checked bank account and am overdrawn - 7 days to payday! Have transferred a bit from mortgage OP savings and some from pay-pally where i put my survey earnings. I have half a tank of petrol and enough food so i don't need to spend anything except i will buy DD1's boyfr a choc treat for Sunday & will need some cat food. I have done some surveys today and earned £3.
hope everyone has a good day
love Deni

Yesterday's meal was lovely and DS1 and his wife paid, so a lot cheaper than expected. Journey across town was hard - DS1 had suggested I get the free shuttle bus bus Deansgate is sectioned off and traffic was only running from the cathedral to town hall direction, nothing going towards the cathedral. I did go early because there were one or two shops I wanted to look at. Hit diversions for pedestrians at two points which sent me into alley ways and narrow places where I was competing with cars - it would help if drivers would indicate which way they want to turn so that I could decide on the best place to stand - one sat there for what felt like 5 minutes as if looking to see which way I would jump. Didn't spend anything in the shops because I was exhausted by zigzagging around. Gave up when I couldn't find my way round Waterstones - went in through the everything that isn't books section which seems to have expanded exponentially.
Lovely meal, lovely company, was yawning on the bus and in bed and asleep shortly after 9pm. Today will be a domestic day - lots of food prepped or part assembled but need to make meals, washing pile is growing, have some parts earmarked for cleaning (bathroom floor - moving stuff off the floor is the hardest part) but will see how I do. Bed looks like a dumping ground again and I could productively spend some time condensing the stuff I've moved onto the bedside trolley and over door shelves - just moved stuff there from other places. No doubt I will not get everything done, so the plan is to start small and do what I can.
Grateful for good meal and happy time, good sleep, feeling my way through the day.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11 -

Still NSD 7/16, needed to buy a birthday card I usually buy all the cards I need for the month on pay day but forgot one. Pleased though as I went to bandm and only bought the card!
Realised I still have some Christmas gift money, I was saving towards hair straighteners as I thought mine were on their way out. However I have a hole in my trainers and saw some I liked so I’ve used the money for this instead of waiting for my birthday next month.
WFH today & resolved something I’ve had pending for a week so glad that’s sorted. In the office tomorrow, I’m already dreading the parking!Grateful for
DS being old enough to play in the park across the road from us with his friends

Today I am grateful for a smooth journey home, for dc being okay, for our washing machine, for sunshine, for the green green grass of home.

How fantastic to meet the artist that painted your painting, Apple! So nice to have something special to remember your holiday by.
Firsview - what is it with cats and boxes?! They are so funny! OH has just sent me a photo of our huge cat having crammed herself into a shallow pizza box. Bit of overspill round the edges!
Dropped charity necklaces off for the shoebox appeal along with some small toys and 4 stacking storage boxes that work nolonger want.
Tried to drop off some charity items at another place but no one in. Need to arrange well in advance next time. Must take the jam jars and other items out of the car boot as they are rattling so much!
Took mum out for a pub tea tonight for a change. Very nice food and it made a lovely change. Not too busy when we got there.
Had my blood test this morning. Results should be back about Tuesday.
Flagging a bit tonight so sleep tight Turtles! X

Great treasure found folks, wonder where I can look to find some here? 🤣
Started out well, with good intentions, balanced the books ready to do my tax return, then once logged on to online payslips, realised I've not had my p60 for this year yet, so couldn't do it. Hopefully should get it along with my payslip on Friday. Instead I sewed a memory bear together for a customer. Friend came over in the afternoon to cut DS2&3's hair, then I completed all the handsewing. After tea I finished knitting the sleeve of my jumper, just the neckband to do. Yippee!!
Grateful for the memory bear looking good, new customers, finishing another book & my jumper sleeveUse it up, wear it out

Morning turtles,
what a lovely thing to treasure apple! I hope you're having a great break.
Work was an easy day yesterday, had a good workout at lunchtime then after dinner met up with a friend I used to live with in Colombia who has moved to Madrid, was lovely to catch up. I walked to the bar from home which wasn’t close so took around an hour, arrived sweaty but couldn’t face public transport after doing the commute!
I only had two drinks but I do have a headache this morning, maybe also something to do with me needing egg and chips when I got home at 1am, was ravenous from all the exercise.
Today and tomorrow are hols and the only thing on the agenda today is to drop a huge bin bag of clothes to the charity bin and have a hunt around some charity shops.
I must also donate to the foodbank.
Grateful for not having to do anything, for meeting up with an old friend, for having the gym all to myself, for bf coming home tomorrow (if he manages to deal with the UK airport chaos)
Enjoy your day turtles xx
