Thank you elsiepac for doing this thread. As I've said before it really does help keep us accountable, even if we blow the budget.
We have slightly gone over budget for March so far, OH needs a few items today still for March and we won't declare until the end of the month, but with the increases I'm not too worried about how much we have gone over so far and how much we are likely to spend still. I think we are still doing well.
The month goes 1st to the 30th.Our April budget is going to be £165.
This is for two adults, my OH and I, and a chinchilla. Includes all food and drink (except alcohol), cleaning products, toiletries etc and all chinchilla items (food, hay, sand, treats etc.).
Still trying to use up as much as possible.
OH is going to be away for the last two weeks in April. This is going to make things more difficult for me for meals, as well as general living, due to my disability. Likely to be a lot of meals that can be put together or reheated easily. As OH won't be here for the two weeks the budget should technically be even less but I've taken into account the chance of needing more convenient foods. I'm hoping the buffer won't be needed and to come nicely under budget but I'm being realistic.£0/165.£165 leftI am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy5 -
Just calling by to say hello. I haven't joined in since April 2021 as I have been living with my dad following emergency surgery, cancer diagnosis and all that follows. Going back to work hopefully on the 3rd May and returning home in the next couple of weeks so should be joining you in May.7

I'm in again too. Please can you put me down for £200 again? We have spent less than this in the past two months but we have a wee hotel break planned which often means picking up bits such as ready-made sandwiches. I am also noticing the ongoing price hikes so won't push too low.5

hello may i join you all please ?
I am not setting a budget as have done that so many times and normally fall flay on my face. So my plan is to come on chat a bit about what im up to to to try and save. I like to read the talk of like minded people. We are approaching retirement and want to start living on a more fixed income. We are parents and 2 adult children.
Best of luck and look forward to the chatonwards and upwards6 -
Thank you, @elsiepac! I'm in for
£500
this month please, edited: it's a 4-weekend month for us, though I thought it was a 5 initially. That's to feed, wash & clean up after 5 adults full-time, 1 more 3 days of the week, and various (mostly) family visitors at weekends; we have one of my brothers, plus his assorted canine companions, for Easter, for example. Given the massive increase in fuel bills and expected rises in food costs, I'm planning to see where we can cut back whilst maintaining quality, and "working" every inch of our garden & allotment to the max - when one crop comes out, another will go straight in, and every spare flowerpot will be pressed into service to grow salad leaves or extra herbs.
