I've just checked and I last received a switch offer from Halifax in 2016 and left them in 2019, so am eligible for the £125 offer.

Tempted to switch my Club Lloyds account back to Halifax now!
Ooh I can't bring myself to do that.

24 free cinema tickets each year is too much to give up.

This year I might actually have to pay to see some movies, there's that many on the list.
I found that I wasn't really using them and I also get a free movie every week at Odeon through O2 Priority, but I can see it is a great benefit for some.

How do you manage to get 24 free tickets though?! Do you have 4 Club Lloyds accounts? I'm intrigued!  :)

Thanks. Same timeline and just checked to find that mine's there too.

Don't mind that they haven't sent me a single communication, as long as it's been paid 😁

I tend to get asked that when I say 24. lol.

    Sort of.

    Wife & I - there's 3 accounts.

I also manage the banking for mother, sister & brother. Mother & sister bag their cinema vouchers but brother isn't interested so let's me have them for the work I put in. Both parties happy so jobs a good un.

Ah I understand now! Haha. That's brilliant!

I spoke to Halifax today regarding applying for an overdraft, and they have basically said because it is a brand new account I'll need to have some activity on the account before the system will allow an automatic decision. They recommend I try again in about a month to apply for the overdraft. They did offer to do a manual application over the phone, but they said it would last 30 mins and would then have to go to an underwriter! So I've opted for the wait 1 month approach. I don't use my existing overdraft with Lloyds, I just like to have it on the account as a safety net.

I think it's because I was a customer previously and applied through online banking, so it appeared to follow the same process as if I were just opening a second account with them for example.

Will see how it goes, looking forward to the £125 soon!  :)

Snap - exactly my timeline, too.

Yet another of my 'old' TSB accounts comes in useful.

Some options for those wanting to make £500 debit card payments to get the reward. Make a PayPal friend and family payment, or buy £500 premium bonds to add a frisson of excitement (leave the money in long enough for at least one lottery draw). That's good enough. Do it via Curve, then you can switch the transaction to your other Halifax account next month (heh heh).

And incidentally, Halifax aren't very good at checking if you've had a switch bonus previously - unless you've still got an account with them.

having tried to switch x 5 online (!) over yesterday & today and each time had a "There is a problem with one of our systems"- or something similar on the final screen I have resorted to the telephone.
If anyone needs it: 0345 6025293
    They are open until 10pm
I have an existing Reward a/c and the whole process took just about 10 minutes. Soonest switch date now is April 19th. I suspect they are now overwhelmed by demand!!
    Bye bye HSBC
