I had the same issue…I then downloaded the app on my iPad and set everything up using that. It worked perfectly. Then I went back to my phone and logged in using the pin with no problem. I can’t now use the app on my iPad as you can only have one device registered at a time but it’s working fine on my Android 8.0 Samsung.Growingold said:Downloaded the Chase App on my mobile but it said it only works on Android 8.0 or above. Checked my settings I have Android 8.00 already. What can I do?2 -
I had no problems at all with Santander. Did the small test payment and then did 2x £10k last night which went through straight away. Today I’ve done another £20k with no issues. Maybe they’ve now adjusted their system to recognise Chase as a bonafide payee given so many were trying to use it yesterday?Daliah said:
My experience is that Santander blocks randomly. I had a small test payment going through fine, followed by 3 x >£10K within 2 hours yesterday morning all held by their fraud detection system and released manually after a 1 hour phonecall, then two further payments in the small hours of this morning, one >£10k, one just under, made within minutes sailed through in seconds.gt94sss2 said:
Its not just HSBC.Fernastian said:
I'm having same trouble with HSBC too, sent my £1 test which was fine, then delayed fraud alert messages, and now completely locked out of online banking! 40 minutes on hold this morning so far...... Had the same yesterday and they told me further transfers would not be blocked as I'd now confirmed it was legitimate, yet here I am again. Tempted to up sticks and abandon HSBC altogether their customer service is appaling.george4064 said:

Funds still hadn't arrived after 8 hours... But IstDirect (FD) shot themselves in the foot: The funds arrived back in my FD account late evening - it WAS held for fraud checks after all, but they cba to call or text to correct the CS previous incorrect info. or clear the stop.soulsaver said:
Y my £5 got there in a blink but I've got the follow up £20k plus in for the last few hours cyberspace, too. Bear in mind FP is close of play next day guarantee, tho'..n1david said:Opened account this morning. Transferred £1 at 11.25 to test that the transfer was set up properly. That went through in minutes. Set up transfer of £20k. Still not arrived. Chase tell me alternately that transfers are delayed and taking time to go through, and that there may be a problem and I need to get the Faster Payments ID from the sending bank (which I have, but Chase haven't asked for it again since I got it from First Direct). I think they are a bit overwhelmed but a bit of consistent messaging would be reassuring...
1stD confirmed it's not 'held'.
And 'cos it's 'now late',
and 'a lot', it... 'won't/can't go'.
So I have to press the CS to try smaller payments ...
and the 1st of 3 £10ks has just arrived in Chase.
ETA - all arrived now, leaving me daily limit headroom for tomorrow.
FD - Nil points for service - you've slipped.
£1 arrived safely, follow up £10k didn’t arrive. Contacted HSBC through the app to check payment, they said it’s gone through fine and not being held up by any checks. Then a few hours later after that, HSBC text me to say fraud has been detected and to phone them, as it was out hours I couldn’t phone them but they proceeded to suspend my account.
Hopefully I’ll be able to sort today.
Santander blocked my account last night.
According to their fraud team, as Chase is not currently part of the Confirmation of Payee scheme, Santander's automated security consider payments there a higher risk than to CoP institutions.
I also had a large 4 figure payment to RBS, who are partaking in CoP, held up within the last 10 days.
Though in no case did Santander block my app / online access.
It's tiresome. All that because some evil scamsters are still finding gullible fools who happily transfer their life savings to a "safe" account.2 -
If your Android 8.0 device (or any newer even) is no longer getting monthly security updates (which most don't) then I wouldn't be installing any banking applications on that device personally.1

I had to take a photo of my driving licence boy oh boy that was bloody hard work, taking a picture from the kitchen, dinner table, outside in the garden, in the living room.
That sounds so familiar and it still didn't work for me. These banking apps are crap aren't they? Websites are much better.

My experience with Santander is not great. Have spent all morning trying to sort it out.First £100 went through no problem. The next large sum was blocked but after an hour I received a text asking me to verify I wanted this transaction to proceed, which it then did. However, the next large sums were blocked and have spent an hour trying to get the fraud team to release the funds. They now advise the backend team need to release the funds and they will phone me within the next 24 hours. Not a great morning.0

This is why I got a new smart phone, the android os on my tablet was way out of date and could not be updated. Even my Halifax app could not be use because they updated the app, which of course is a good thing due to securities issues.

Let's hope other banks start to bring out more competitive rates. I do think it will take a while before any bank matches it.Deleted_User said:Moved my money over from Virgin, who only had it for a month.
Easy process.
What a world we live in, found myself getting excited about 1.5%.0 -

After calling up their support it seems they have a problem with my passport photo having too much glare. I don't see this glare they are on about and have tried taking photos with many different type of background lighting but none have worked. I don't have a photo id driving licence to try an alternative so it looks like I'm not destined to sign up with Chase.had a similar experience when opening a Starling account months ago - hardly noticeable glare on the passport but they still rejected the first few times.. in the end, I took a photo and uploaded it and passed... pity the Chase app couldn't have allowed that image upload rather than having to take another photo of the passport.it took me 3 or 4 goes with Chase - didn't say if it was rejecting the passport image or the selfie, but it wasn't happy with something (perhaps I need a shave lol)... once accepted, I did need to update the app before it would give me the option to create a savings account.I can fund either account directly from my main current account - and deposits appear within a minute or two... impressed with it so far.0
