Truss has had to resign, not because she went back on some elements of the energy price guarantee, but because her economic policies were a disaster, she has no authority over her party, is not a leader, and because she is an idiot.

Nuclear Energy has hardly no Co2 and you only need 5 grams of Plutonium or Uranium to power a whole city for a month I heard. Plutonium and Uranium are not expensive metals, I bet copper is more expensive then these both.

Renewable Energy such as Solar, Wind is not Scalable and is very expensive for this equipment and is Intermittent energy depending on weather seasons not constant energy like nuclear.

China has built their own Artificial Sun which is Nuclear Fusion not Nuclear Fission.

France energy bills are super cheap because they haven't closed down their Nuclear Power stations.

There is a lot of embodied carbon in constructing a nuclear plant.

I think that you will find it a lot harder & more expensive to get your hand on plutonium/uranium than copper.

Renewable energy such as wind, solar, hydro & perhaps wave to come are cheap these days (much cheaper than building a current nuclear power station) but, as you  mention, tend to be intermittent.

China is not the only place that has created fusion but it is not yet practicable for generation.

You might want to check how many of France's nuclear plants are running & at what levels. Energy bills in France are cheap because of a political decision (just prior to an election, too ) - taxpayers will pay for it down the line.

Of course there's carbon to making anything including nuclear plants too. Heck making tesla cars produces co2 too.

Plus they are really expensive too, how much do one of those large wind turbines you see during a motorway journey cost? Having 1 of them in your front garden is great but probably cost more than 10 houses each. The Oil consortium Opec wont allow Hydro water power you know that until the Oil reserves under earth is dry.

It is hard to truly know what goes on in China but the average standard of living is below the UK's & China is running massive debt (hardly unique, I know).

Elon Musk is even struggling figuring out with Long Term Energy Storage solutions from Renewables and he is a smart guy. 30% Solar panel efficiency is a joke and even if we reach 90-100% efficiency how we gonna store solar energy long term? Like I said renewable energy is not scalable for now and it wont work, Nuclear is the only answer for now. The Government are desperate and trying to pass the Fracking laws that they banned in the past which is laughable.

Russia says it doesn't want Nato bases being built near to its border as part of the Soviet Union USSR Agreement in 1991, the agreement condition between political parties back in the early 90s was Russia saying okay we will give up on the Soviet Union USSR in return there's no Nato military bases being built near to our borders. Whether that agreement condition of the contract was Violated or not is between Ukraine and Russia to deal with and is not for us to decide.

You heard wrong. U-235 is something like £1000 a gram, £30,000 an ounce. Gold is only £1,500 an ounce, so U-235 is 20x more expensive than gold. Plutonium is priceless, you literally can't buy it, but if you could it would be something like 10x the price of U-235.

Anyone trying to sell you shares in a plutonium mine will also have a great deal on Tower Bridge.

& no, there isn't concrete in the foundation of my house  - afaik as a traditional terrace it doesn't actually have any foundations in the modern sense of the word. The building industry is trying to move away from concrete.

i don't deny that the UK standard of living (& most of the western world) is declining atm. It is still however better than the average in China.

The potential for gas shortage in the UK exists because we have negligible storage & because other nations that did rely on Russia for gas are now scrambling for alternate supplies incl. those that we traditionally use

Appears to be suggesting that Russia and the USSR agreed between themselves that NATO couldn't build bases near Russia.

There is absolutely a lot of Uranium mined in Kazakstan, but not Plutonium as per QrizB's comment above. Plutonium in any amount worth talking about is man-made not mined.
