Truss has had to resign, not because she went back on some elements of the energy price guarantee, but because her economic policies were a disaster, she has no authority over her party, is not a leader, and because she is an idiot.2

Bless you, Sir Keir!?
Nuclear Energy has hardly no Co2 and you only need 5 grams of Plutonium or Uranium to power a whole city for a month I heard. Plutonium and Uranium are not expensive metals, I bet copper is more expensive then these both.
Renewable Energy such as Solar, Wind is not Scalable and is very expensive for this equipment and is Intermittent energy depending on weather seasons not constant energy like nuclear.
China has built their own Artificial Sun which is Nuclear Fusion not Nuclear Fission.
France energy bills are super cheap because they haven't closed down their Nuclear Power stations.
I think that you will find it a lot harder & more expensive to get your hand on plutonium/uranium than copper.
Renewable energy such as wind, solar, hydro & perhaps wave to come are cheap these days (much cheaper than building a current nuclear power station) but, as you mention, tend to be intermittent.
China is not the only place that has created fusion but it is not yet practicable for generation.
You might want to check how many of France's nuclear plants are running & at what levels. Energy bills in France are cheap because of a political decision (just prior to an election, too) - taxpayers will pay for it down the line.
Plutonium and Uranium metals are much cheaper and than gold and silver metals and are much easier to mine too I heard.
I hear Solar Panels only reach like 30% efficiency nowadays which ridiculous and slow progress from their introduction decades ago. Plus they are really expensive too, how much do one of those large wind turbines you see during a motorway journey cost? Having 1 of them in your front garden is great but probably cost more than 10 houses each. The Oil consortium Opec wont allow Hydro water power you know that until the Oil reserves under earth is dry.
As far as I know China citizens don't have expensive energy bills like us so something must be working over there.
France don't need to rely that much gas from Russia because they have their own Nuclear Power Stations unlike us that turned off our nuclear power stations upon Greta Thurnberg instructions making us more become more relying on Russian gas meaning we screwed because we put sanctions on Russia and funding Ukraine Defence against Russia that's costing the UK £Billions borrowed from the Bank of England money printers of course.
So, you heard - but where is your factual evidence? I can say that I heard that blue is red but it doesn't make it true.
Yes, 30% efficiency is about state of the art for solar panels these days but they are a lot cheaper than they used to be & the cost per kW generated will continue to fall. Currently generating by gas costs something like 3x wind & 2x solar.
You aren't going to get a commercial wind turbine in your garden (for various reasons). Suffice to say that wind generation is very cheap these days, the problem with it is intermittent & we need better/more ways to store it when it is generating.
We already have hydro in the UK & more is being built (both run of river & pump storage).
It is hard to truly know what goes on in China but the average standard of living is below the UK's & China is running massive debt (hardly unique, I know).
Britain doesn't rely on Russian gas either. As I said, you may wish to check on the state of France's nuclear power stations.
France (& others) put sanctions on Russia, too. France & others are also funding/supplying Ukraine against Russia.
Are you arguing that the unprovoked Russian invasion of an independent country is right? If you let Putin get away with it once he will just do it again & again.
Elon Musk is even struggling figuring out with Long Term Energy Storage solutions from Renewables and he is a smart guy. 30% Solar panel efficiency is a joke and even if we reach 90-100% efficiency how we gonna store solar energy long term? Like I said renewable energy is not scalable for now and it wont work, Nuclear is the only answer for now. The Government are desperate and trying to pass the Fracking laws that they banned in the past which is laughable.
To the contrary the standard of living in the UK is falling right now in real time as we speak and the way things are going now this country will be like a 3rd world country and china will be a economic superpower soon.
Britain does rely on Russia Gas, then why Britain is facing gas shortages this winter causing potential blackouts after the Ukraine-Russia war. Why not last year or the year before that?
No I'm saying why is Britain the only country sending the most money costing us £Billions compared to other countries funding Ukraine defences against Russia? Why cant other countries help fund Ukraine defence bill? Why is it only Britain that is contributing the most to Ukraine when Britain is freezing back here and people cant afford to feed themselves.
Russia is a Nuclear superpower, if we keep poking the Russia bear with a stick then we all die in World War 3 nuclear Armageddon, never mind of worrying which country he will invade next.
Russia says it doesn't want Nato bases being built near to its border as part of the Soviet Union USSR Agreement in 1991, the agreement condition between political parties back in the early 90s was Russia saying okay we will give up on the Soviet Union USSR in return there's no Nato military bases being built near to our borders. Whether that agreement condition of the contract was Violated or not is between Ukraine and Russia to deal with and is not for us to decide.0 -

U-235 is something like £1000 a gram, £30,000 an ounce. Gold is only £1,500 an ounce, so U-235 is 20x more expensive than gold. Plutonium is priceless, you literally can't buy it, but if you could it would be something like 10x the price of U-235.Anyone trying to sell you shares in a plutonium mine will also have a great deal on Tower Bridge.
Kazakhstan would be a rich country like Dubai UAE that has gotten rich from oil if Uranium or Plutonium was expensive like you say but it doesn't look rich in the film lol.0 -

& no, there isn't concrete in the foundation of my house - afaik as a traditional terrace it doesn't actually have any foundations in the modern sense of the word. The building industry is trying to move away from concrete.
i don't deny that the UK standard of living (& most of the western world) is declining atm. It is still however better than the average in China.
No, Britain does not rely on Russian gas, it was under 4% & it's even less now.
The potential for gas shortage in the UK exists because we have negligible storage & because other nations that did rely on Russia for gas are now scrambling for alternate supplies incl. those that we traditionally use
There are other methods of storage than chemical batteries - e.g. pump storage is one, thermal storage another, phase changing compounds yet another etc.
We are not. In fact, Britain has been slipping down the list of donors these days.
Britain is also a nuclear power as are France & the USA. Any 1 has the capability to wipe out Russia, together .... Putin knows this. Not only that, but given the performance of his other services he just might have some doubt about how much of his nuclear armament is actually viable.
Your last paragraph is indecipherable. However, there is no way that in a civilised world the Russian invasion of Ukraine is justifiable. Have you heard of the Budapest Memorandum?1 -

Not sure quite how it's possible for a country that doesn't exist yet to negotiate with a past incarnation of itself and put conditions on other sovereign states because of it, but never mind.3 -
