One more question Buddy. l don't have any deeds as yet for the property. l see it needs the county and date. Am l right in thinking the only way to obtain the date the house was purchased would be paying for a search of the sasine?0

The C3 form doesn’t offer much guidance on the matter but books which cover the subject usually advise to include a short conveyancing type description for properties still on the Sasines register. I think I would follow whatever guidance the court staff gave you.
If there is no information in family papers or available from solicitor, then Registers of Scotland would be the source.
In the example - xxxxxx represents the names of the purchasers as shown in the disposition. County relates to the old county system and in your case will be Fife. There may be two dates. Date of disposition and date of registration.

Out of interest, how long does it take to be granted when the form has been accepted?0

1. I have a screenshot of the bit I am struggling with. There is no tax to be paid. Does that look right. ?
2. What text do you put in the inventory if ownership of home is only 50% ?A number of comments to make.
Before you edited your post you mentioned that your father (I think) had no will. Is this Confirmation application in respect of your father and is it correct that there is no will. This is important. Who then is the executor and what is the method of appointment? Is mother surviving and was she married to dad?
I have inserted below suggested inventory examples of joint ownership .
Screenshot - You need an entry in each of boxes 21 to 25.
- Box 22 will be ‘No’ if the spouse is surviving.
- Box 23 will be the gross value of the estate. This is often the same as the gross value for Confirmation (but could be higher) see guidance C3.
- Box 24 is the net value. Again often the same as the net value for Confirmation.
- Box 25 will be zero if all the estate passes to mother (if mum and dad were married) and if the children have renounced any legal rights entitlement (legitim) .

Hi, I am looking for advice re insurance policies.
The first pictureshows my original application.
I have changed it to Zurich Assurance Ltd. Is it as simple as adding UK with regards as to where the policy was held?
Also my street name is spelt incorrectly in the will, does anyone have any suggestions re this. Thank you

Thank youIf the life policies are not in trust and are part of the estate and payable to the executor I would expect the inventory entry to look something like this. (But with details that reflect your own situation)
……………………………………………….
Personal estate in England and Wales
Zurich Assurance Ltd.
Registered Office: Unity Place, 1 Carfax Close, Swindon, SN1 1AP.
Life policies on the life of the deceased
Policy number **************
Policy number **************

To reference a will address inaccuracy, add to para 2 of page 2 wording similar to below but with your own details.
In said will my address is per incuriam written 7 McLean Street instead of 7 McLane Street
