No, exactly, or even not-long-Covid as Mr MV had. (It doesn’t count as long Covid until you’ve suffered 3 months of it).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oh no how horrid for you especially in the heat ☹️ Hope you are feeling a bit better now Vix. Our only ever trip to Scotland was Helensburgh to visit a great aunt who lived on a caravan park when dd was a toddler, such amazing scenery driving around Loch Lomond, we are hoping to go back next year on a little road trip, so I might ask for tips 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

Afternoon all,
Thanks NG. It's been pretty grotty. My fever finally broke yesterday evening, so feeling a bit brighter today, but still very tired - I have about 2 hours of being awake and then have a two-hour nap. Hoping this will pass soon! We love, love, love Scotland, and I've just given a friend a load of tips about places to visit, but I'm sure other people probably have better ideas! As we've got 'our' wind turbine (Ripple!) up there being built at the end of the year, I suspect we'll go for another holiday up there next year or the following year with that as an excuse!
My new laptop arrived today (and it's what I'm using currently to type), but it's going to have to go back as one of the USB ports is damaged. 🙄 Pretty fed up about that as I've really been looking forward to it arriving this week for 'lazy work' purposes. And of course, we didn't realise until Mr MV had pretty much finished setting it up.
MS things:
* I've been keeping up with the work from my American clients - fortunately none of it has been much in terms of quantity
* Mr MV came with me yesterday for final cat sitting duty - very glad that that's over
* Mr MV did a MS for 5 guys yesterday which covered dinner (in no way healthy, but it did make me feel *so* much better, so definitely worth it (it ended up over the reimbursement limit)
Gratitudes:
* Slowly feeling better and taking it all very slowly
* Mr MV is looking after me very well
* EH's diary has kept me nicely entertained when I've been awake enough to want to do anything

Me too
Good to see you're not overdoing it! What a palaver about the laptop, pah! You'll have your new-new one soon enough though (I hope)

Morning all,
Thanks SH and Cheery. I don't think I've slept this much or this well in 10 years, so it's got to be doing some good, right? Mr MV has gone off to parkrun on his own this morning. We've got the roofer coming at 1 (either to do the work or have a look, never entirely sure with him!) - just some ridge tiles need resticking in place and it needs to be done before we get the solar. Mr MV is determined that as soon as they say we can come, we're ready to go, and this is the last piece of that puzzle, so will be good to get it sorted. Mr MV will of course be dealing with said roofer (makes a changepity I have to have the plague for that to be the case!) and he shouldn't need to come inside (if he does, I'll be well out of the way and we'll keep it all ventilated.
My aim for the day is to walk to the allotment (only about 1/3 mile away). I will take Mr MV with me and he can do all the watering needed (assuming I have any plants left after the heatwave). I daren't go by myself as I know I'll end up overdoing it - I never just do what I have in mind when I go down there at the best of times! Other than that, I'll see how much extra sleep I need. I may do some dishcloth knitting if I feel up to it, or there's some digital decluttering to do (photos mainly from icloud - so much that doesn't need to be kept for posterity!).
We've had the first cc statement from my Avios card - think there's about £2k on there, so safe to say we'll meet the expenditure for the bonus points (£3k in 3 months). A lot of this is budgeted stuff - the laptop, a gearbox for my car, shocks for Mr MV's car (and probably some other smaller bits too that will come out of pots), so it isn't going to be an issue - it looks worse than it is!
MS things (inc to do!):
* Clicks (actually done - nothing on HW today)
* YG survey
* Dinner last night was curry from the freezer (parsnip daal for me, turkey/pork (?) for Mr MV) which will have created some space. Not sure about tonight - annoyingly I think we need pasta, otherwise I'd suggest the slow cooked courgette dish we had the other week - 3 courgettes in the bottom of the fridge and probably more ready to pick by now too!
Gratitudes:
* Fun times looking back through old photos with Mr MV - mainly across the room, but I think he's pretty much of the opinion that he's immune at the moment - he sat next to me on the sofa in the end last night
* So. much. sleep.
* MSE for low-energy entertainment
Have a good day all!

Ooh, glad you've been getting some decent sleep. I do hope it tops both of us up! Mr Cheery is definitely NOT of the opinion that he's immune - we haven't been in the same room since Tuesday 🙄
Good call on digital decluttering as an activity - I might copy you on that one. I made a photo book of the first 10 years of our relationship, and I meant to do another one after another 5 years but didn't - we're up to 17 this year so I'd best get started on the 20 year version else it'll never happen! 😂5 -
Mr MV was clearly wherever I was (probably the gig) when I caught it, and while we've been pretty good about keeping distance etc. we've been nothing like as careful as when he caught it (I had the added incentive of wanting to get to BIL's much-delayed wedding). He did have a bit of a sore throat on Monday (but tested negative), so we've come to the conclusion that his body probably fought it off. Fair enough for Mr Cheery though - I don't blame him!
The photo sorting has been prompted by the purchase of a second-hand older iPad to use as a digital photo frame - so very similar to the photobook idea - we've been going back over all photos and adding a nice/good selection to the shared photo frame album, whilst also getting rid of some dross and being entertained at the same time.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
