That sounds like a lovely afternoon RT! And absolutely nothing wrong with a throwback to the fifties! 😁
Early start was entirely by choice but if I’ve slept well I do want to make the most of the long days - I love the early mornings if I can get out there, so quiet (when neighbour isn’t outside!) and full of promise. Last summer (and some previous ones) I was so tired that I didn’t make the most of it and it felt like summer passed us by to an extent. The way things are going with cat sitting I’ll need to be getting up early to get round them before sitting down for work!
Wish the weather would cheer up here - it is… veeery slowly. Planning slabs aren’t drying yet though. I have washing to put out, but it’s not going to dry at this rate.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

RT, a tea dance, how lovely! I hope you manage a bit of a standup and boogie
Madvix, a *chosen* early morning, out in the garden, is a wonderful thing! It's also pretty good to back to bed afterwards, yay. But the weather is tricky, isn't it, there was a *lot* of rain here - I managed to wash a total of two flowerpots before the rain soaked through all my clothes, it was the better part of valour to go inside. But it looks slightly better now - I hope yours is too.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Thanks Karma 😊 We have had a good afternoon. Popped down to the allotment for a bit and Mr MV helped me get the dead red currant out, the gooseberry in (donated by allotment friend) and hammered the stakes in for my fruit ‘cage’. I weeded quite a bit (back was ok!) and then allotment friend offered me half a dozen parsnip seedlings, so I popped them in. Feeling much more positive knowing that I can do some weeding and it doesn’t take much to make it look better. We also harvested another huge batch of rhubarb, so more vodka, crumble and jam are on the cards. (I need to harvest more from the garden too). Mr MV discovered that the allotment has excellent 5G reception, so hoping I can tempt him down there a bit more often - just for the company, I’m quite happy to do most of the work myself.Now sitting in the garden with a glass of bubbly and enjoying watching the cats roam (they only get garden time before meals unless we’re out there). And there is a noisy frog in the pond!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Just had to share, have just collected a huge amount of stuff from a nearby Olioer (Mr MV drove me after the large glass of bubbly he gave me!)
We got sliced peppers (used in dinner- tofu stir fry with previous Olio tofu), raspberry cheesecake slices (dessert), organic baby potatoes, 20 onions (She had 20kg!), quorn picnic eggs, 2x 4-packs mini higgidy ‘pork’ pies (red lentil), 2x bbq ‘chicken’ pieces (picky bits in fridge for tomorrow as they won’t freeze), mini pastries (breakfast), 2x quorn pasties, fish pie mix, beef and onion pie and fresh pasta (all in freezer, and added to freezer inventory). Definitely won’t need to shop this week now!Sitting down now to watch the coronation concert, the formula one and the end of the Manchester United match - all at once!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

oooo - that is quite the haul Vix - I'm very envious! - our local oliers give out 2 or 3 items at most to each person unless they've got crates of something! (which is rare btw)

Well I requested on the basis that I wouldn’t get everything (which I didn’t), but with 2 large Tesco and 2 small in the town, there’s plenty to go round. Also, because a lot was use by I suspect she just wanted to get rid. I’ve since requested some beautiful bananas from the lady collecting from ‘my’ store tonight for collection in the morning. So a very good Olio day!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Yesterday, as the forecast was rubbish, we decided to go to the in-laws and finish clearing their loft. And we did! It was a blimming long day though and hard work. I managed to get everything for Ebay listed last night too, so making use of the FVF offer. We took the picky bits for lunch and shared them with FIL (not suitable for MIL's complicated diet) and they fed us in the evening, which was just as well as I think takeaway would have been calling.
This morning I've popped out and got milk and cheese as we were about to run out as the milkman came on Friday because of the BH. Cheese was bought because we need it and there was a Coop offer on my card, otherwise it could have waited. Since then I've cracked on with my work and should be able to considerably beat the deadline I had negotiated with my client, so that's good.
I have a list of things to do outwith work today, including dealing with the 2+kg of rhubarb that we pulled at the allotment on Sunday.
MS things:
* Clicks done, HW done (won £5! and withdrawn it) and comps entered
* Small platform job done (probably on next month's account now)
* S&S submitted
* PA survey done
* We have a meal plan, but no idea what's on it, so will have to have a look shortly!
* Fixed rate saver with Atom has matured and money shifted to instant saver - £17 interest on £1k in 6 months seems pretty nice
Gratitudes:
* Dinner cooked for me last night and time spent with in-laws
* Sparrows on my walk round the block to the Coop this morning
* Catch up chat with Mum who I've not spoken to all weekend - am seeing her tomorrow after physio
Have a good day all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

That loft clearing for your in-laws is amazing - I'm lucky in that when I moved here, I decided never to put any of my stuff up there, so at least I don't have to do that 😁 And yay to rhubarb, sparrows, Coop offers and good clicks
Have a good one, sounds like things are rolling along really well.

It's amazing how much more on-track everything feels when I can move easily! More physio tomorrow, but my back is so much better than it was - I couldn't have contemplated the loft clearance this time last week.
Definitely a wise move not to put stuff in your loft. The in-laws' had 40 years of stuff in it (and MIL won't go up there so wasn't able to declutter any of it without help from procrastinatey FIL) - nearly all of the stuff went. They now just have Christmas stuff, a small pile of sentimental things/boxes for 'valuable' china (I'm not sure it is, but...) and suitcases. And most of the inner and outer parts of a Mini (but that's our fault!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

My parents have tons in their loft, but are slowly getting it all out as my mum says she will not want to keep going up there as she gets older. Hopefully will avoid me having to do it at some point, although a lot of it is being decluttered into my house anyway as it’s kids stuff 🤦♀️2025 decluttering: 3,984🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅
