rtandon27 said:Morning Vix - good news on the Cambridge job and well done on the platform jobs - that's a nice healthy sum to add to the tally!
Totally agree with you on the recipe boxes helping with clearing mind space! - we've had a few goes at them when they were on bargainous special & now have our favourite recipes in rotation - OH does most of the actual cooking & one of the recipes in particular he know knows off by heart & now even improvises when we don't have the exact ingredients! I've also been on the websites of said recipe boxes for inspiration and printed off their step by step instructions - OH is a big fan of pictures in a recipe, keeps him on track.
...still thinking about the diary - LOL - when it's you & EH egging me on, there must be something to it! xx RT
EH and I just like to ramble on - you've seen how long our posts are, right? It always makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one who can put out such volume on a daily basis! 😂 But I love the input from others about my thinking and it's really helpful to have something to look back over and remind myself of a) the progress and b) things I might forget to do from time to time. And there's always the hope that I might say something that helps someone - I know I've picked up so many invaluable things from the forum over the years. To my mind, the forum is way more valuable than the website (sacrilege, I know) - once you get to a certain level of money saving skill though, learning from your equally tight/prudent/thrify peers is the only way! 😂Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I haven't chipped in yet on the diary, RT, but only because you weren't enthusiastic a while ago. I definitely want a diary from you! Pllleeeeaassse! Sharing the moneysaving wrinkles all in one place is *such* a good idea, and your online buddies know where to find you, which is the other big plus.
Now we need a good title 🌞2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

Afternoon all,
We have watched the coronation this morning and enjoyed a picky lunch of spicy breaded prawns (leftover in the freezer from Christmas) and veggie sausage rolls (also from the freezer), followed by a cupcake each - I got some coronation toppers from Olio, so had to make some and even get the icing stuff out (I very rarely bother with making any baking pretty). Whilst watching, I was entering comps and am now entirely up to date with all those on the comps board that are of interest.
Not sure about plan for the afternoon. Very annoyingly, despite the Ombudsman saying they cover 'installations' apparently they only mean meter installations, not solar ones, so I am going to have to pursue Eon for the money owed. I will be adding on my time at £30/hour to their bill I think too.
I need to inventory the freezer this afternoon. It's miserable here, so no garden/allotment stuff will be getting done, nor preparation of car before its sale (or the work needed on either of the other two cars 😔).
MS things:
* Comps done
* HW and clicks done
* 1P surveys - nearly at £7 now
* Lunch from freezer
Gratitudes:
* I don't have to be anywhere today
* We need the rain for the lawn (although I'd rather it came in the week and weekends were nice!)
* Nice time at the pub last night (and we avoided the showers)
Have a good afternoon/evening all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Up early today because I woke up feeling refreshed for a change, so in the garden with the cats and a cuppa at 6.45. Unfortunately the peace of the morning was somewhat shattered by neighbour having her first cigarette of the day loudly next door at the same time. Oh well.
Clicks, comps and HW all done (I have gone back to bed with laptop) and a £4.50 PA survey done too. Have also booked in a small cat sitting job for beginning of June - things are beginning to book up in that regard now, which will be a good test for my cycling!
Despite a good night's sleep I still have a lurking headache (better than yesterday), but am hoping some paracetamol will shift it as I want to get on today. Something is eating things in the greenhouse and it's not slugs/snails, so I'm going to take it all apart and give it a good clean to get rid of any little lodgers who might think I'm providing bed *and* board. Unfortunately two of the plants SL gave me have fallen prey (I'm sorry!) - I've moved the third back into the kitchen for now. Calabrese are also suffering. Mr MV has also agreed to come down to the allotment with me and do some bits, so that's definitely an opportunity to be taken advantage of. And there's the possibility that various people may pop round for a cupcake. Also collecting some bread and kale from an Olioer at 10 - really helpfully as I'd identified what we needed for the week's lunches and then it came up!

6:45😨😨😨 wow Vix - that's early for a Sunday morning! - glad you are feeling refreshed though 😊
I'm currently working to a time deadline of noon to get all my Sunday bits done, as we have promised to show our faces at the church fete & take finger food appropriate for a tea dance - we'll be taking homemade rice crispy squares - OH cheekily reminded me it was 2023 not 1953 but as my childhood (and associated memories) was well after the last coronation, I'm ignoring his jibe - LOL
