My final job before I retired came about because DD wanted a weekend job, but the shop/cafe needed someone to work a few hours through the week as well. We suggested a job share and they took us both on! I stayed 14 years.2025 Fashion on the ration

I remember Sunday's being pretty boring when I was a kid. Sunday tv was limited to grim Charles Dickens tales and Songs of Praise, neither of which floated my boat. None of my friends lived near me and very few children in our street of mainly pensioners.

Nothing chills the blood quite as much as an old-fashioned Scottish Sunday. And they always seemed to be wet too..

When I was little, my parents would drop me off at my grandparents' and go out on Sunday evening. My grandma would watch Songs of Praise and we would get the old hymn book out and try to find the words before the end of the hymn!2025 Fashion on the ration

Over the last couple of weeks my local A$da have been selling a number of tea and coffees at vastly reduced prices. Everything has really good use by dates so I have stocked up, probably enough green tea for a year, assam for 6 months and instant coffee for at least a year, probably longer. There's still some on the shelves but I'm running short on space.5

OH likes Kenco which has gone up from £4.50 to £5 in Tesco. I'll call in Asda and stock up when I have to take the car to the garage on Monday. There were reports on TV earlier this week that the price of coffee is expected to increase (what isn't?).The yogurt I was buying for 45p in Tesco a few weeks went up to 49p and now 55p.Managed to get some beer for OH which was reduced as the packaging was damaged.Would have cost £5 for 4 bottles, got the same beer in 4 cans for £2.81. Have noticed that you can get 4 cans for the price of 3 bottles at normal prices. Think OH will be drinking canned beer for a while. My policy at the moment is to stock up as an investment against inflation on goods that will keep.Make £2025 in 2025
