My local supermarkets have limited their flours, oils and pastas to 3 per customer, so I pick up 3 somethings of pasta every time I go. The flours (all sorts) have been sold out by the time I get there for the last six weeks, but I will pick up 3 as soon as I find them again.I have to supervise dds again while baking, to make sure the dough or batter is made correctly and doesn't need to be thrown out. DD2 (10) especially, is fond of 'experiments' and 'freehand baking', which usually leads to colourful, fancy looking, unedible cakesAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.595

We have a Poundstretcher locally with 50% off everything. I've stocked up on coffee (had a Greek label but seems OK) and washing liquid. They're now out of stock on both so am keeping an eye on them.
Also stocked up on sunflower oil from Lidl and am taking advantage of their tinned salmon/tuna offers that seem to happen at the weekends. Tuna steaks 200g 65p this weekend.5 -
@Siebrie you just unlocked a memory of me 'creating' in the kitchen as a kid. I used every food colouring going and what resulted was a greeny/browny mess that I still tried to convince the family to try! 🤣🤣February wins: Theatre tickets3

My dog pooh bags, for example that used to be £1 are now £2 before the discount which you only get if you spend over a fiver. Shoddy sales tactics, in my opinion. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.7 -
The coffee was Nescafe Gold Blend at £2.50 for 200g after discount
The washing liquid was 99p for a large bottle (too large to fit on my shelf, can't remember the actual volume) after discount3 -
Slinky said:Managed to get some beer for OH which was reduced as the packaging was damaged.Would have cost £5 for 4 bottles, got the same beer in 4 cans for £2.81. Have noticed that you can get 4 cans for the price of 3 bottles at normal prices. Think OH will be drinking canned beer for a while.Checked my receipt earlier, and found I've been charged full price for the beer. Will have to call by on my way back from the garage on Monday.Hope the garage fix the problem, this will be the 3rd visit for the same thing - hybrid battery not charging - and the garage is a 20 miles round trip.ETA have just checked and there's a Farmfoods not far from the garage so will take a look, thanks Floss

I've been thinking about stocking up on a few tins of stewing steak for easy meals. Any recommendations for which brand/supermarkets own to buy?"Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

elsien said:Just so you are aware, Poundstretcher doubled its prices before knocking the 50% off. I found an item with the original price on and challenged the cashier. He said that yes they had increased all the prices and were being told to give the 50% off the lower price if you had an item with the original label otherwise to use the higher price for the discount. Some things may still be cheaper but check carefully.

I bought more of their Woodland large planters, used to be £4 now £6 with 50% off so still a good deal
Filled bird seed feeders are £4 with 50% off, Tes?o are £4
Definitely never saw Nescafe Gold for £5 with 50% off as I would have bought that3
