Oh my @Getridofdebt66 ... you definitely deserve a pamper after all that !! Great result !!

Your mentioning vacuum bags took me back to when we moved house, I moved all our clothes and bedding that wouldn't fit in a suitcase in vac bags. We were in between houses and space was a premium for a few months and they were invaluable. I still have a couple unopened which I might just dig out if I need more storage space.

Got everything ticked off my list (sort of).
A rain shower meant the tumble drier had to be used to finish off the clothes and only one flower bed was weeded but it was a step in the right direction at least. As for sorting the winter clothes into storage - still more to do there but I have tomorrow off so that's migrated to tomorrow's to do list ;)

I'm really happy we moved the piano keyboard upstairs though we spent a good hour playing it rather than doing things we were meant to be doing.

Off to make sandwiches for DHs lunch. I keep him on the straight and narrow Mon to Thurs then he has free rein to have a Fry up Friday takeaway lunch with a couple of his office mates.

    Have a great day tomorrow.

Sounds like you had a productive day too @jusferbrowsing i enjoyed my pamper evening yesterday, it was needed.

Today i have stuck to my list, managed to get out of work on time and oh put my tea in as he and dd ate earlier with her being off for strikes. Oh has changed the beds and has used the new pegs (he gave them a good review...i never knew you could be so happy to have pegs) i am just having a cuppa now before taking dd to her club. Also had a nsd!

    Tomorrow's plans:

    All food from stores

    General housework

    Work all day

    Nsd again.

Relaxing bathafter dd...using 1 lot of water just top up a bit more warm

Try and book dd into a free club in the next holidays if they have opened up.

Not much planned as i cannot do much in the week but i can have nsds and general pottering around the house after work.

Been away from here for a few days, not actually been anywhere just busy working and juggling everything. Starting to become overwhelmed again about money so just trying to not spend/not think about it too much.

This weekend i took dd out to her club, oh brought a hot drink and i paid parking £5.50 today dd has had her club, £3 spent. All food from stores really enjoyed tea today. Plan on a nice bath shortly and a relax. I used been using the weather to dry all the washing, currently my energy for today is at £4.21 seems a lot but not with how expensive it is.

Tomorrow i am planning on staying in the house, i want to
    All food from stores
    Iron uniforms for the week
Bake a cake..maybe 2 of so I will freeze one as I have a few bananas that are over ripe
    Change the beds
    General housework
    Send some emails about debts
Get petrol as i will need for work.
Try and clear 2 drawers of rubbish in the kitchen as there is a lot of random letters that I don't need.
Throw out an old appliance that doesn't work -been meaning to put this our for scrap man for about 4 months.
    Sort out shoe boxes
Have a relaxing film night with dd as oh at work
Sort childcare for later in the week.

That is all for now i think thats enough of a list that i can have a relax but also get something productive done...
  • Well after 2.5 weeks I am back, I have been struggling with my mental health and also been more skint than we ever have before the last few weeks, its taken its toll.
Payday yesterday tho and feels like a weight has been lifted esp now my car is finally paid off. Treated myself to a couple of pairs of curtains, one for mine and one for dds room along with a small pair for the hallway, the ones we have were given to us or cheap used ones, £32 spent as they were in the sale. That was my payday treat. Yesterday i spent £30 in Mr T for dog food, tea stuff and they had lots of vegetables and bread they were selling off and I had lots of room in my freezer, so sorted for at least 2 weeks with bread. Today i brought dd a meal deal and a salad for me, unnecessary really but this past couple of months have been hard and if a £2.50 salad cheers me up once il take it. Food shop done for the week coming tomorrow, used a variety of voucher and discount codes, £80.spent but got all my toiletries for at least 2-3 weeks and cleaning supplies.

Tomorrow i will be back to reining it in.

    Tomorrow's plans
Take dd to club £3 to spend.
    Shopping coming, put it away.
    General housework
Tidy garden and rearrange furniture after oh paints the fences and decking in the morning.
    All food from stores.
Washing and dry it all outside
    Put clean washing away
    Put screenwash in car
    Empty a bag from work.
Iron and put up new curtains.

As i am now on holiday from work i will try and come on every day and get into the routine for when i return.
Need to get back in control of my finances and focus on getting the house straight whilst I am off.
  • Isn't it funny how after some hard debt busting a £2,50 salad box feels like a real treat and appreciated as such. Enjoy your day tomorrow and smile at your lovely (and what a bargain!!) new curtains once they are hung.
  • Hello @jusferbrowsing yes that £2.50 salad did hit the spot after the past month.
Today i took dd out with her friend, i caught up with one of my friends, i also got some new work shoes, mine literally had a hole in and were hanging on by a thread along with some long overdue underwear and some sliders for the summer, i have a pair covered in paint that i live in so got a pair for outside the house. Spent £50 on 2 drinks and my essentials that were long overdue.

Thats my spending being reined in now for this month ans it's come out of the extra from my car being paid off. I am hoping I can use the rest each month to pay off my debts and maybe have £40 a month to buy some new clothes and essentials as I dont often buy myself anything, i am ok for the summer but will need need stuff for winter as my clothes are falling apart.

I have put 1 pair of curtains up, they look so lovely, fresh and clean.

    Tomorrow's plans
Hsd - hairdresser coming tomorrow, £50 to spend
    Take dd to sleepover
    Go to the tip
Fill screenwash as i forgot the other day.
    General housework
    Change beds
    Washing and dry outside
    All food from stores
Put hallway curtains up after ironing them
Sort towel cupboard...there is so much stuff in there and a lot will never be used or touched again

Thats enough to start me off...

  • My plan to post everyday went haywire but i have had a lovely week with oh and dd, went out yesterday for the day, oh paid for everything, today i brought some bits for the garden £19 spent oh got me some petrol so it evens out. Some weeks he has more money and some weeks i do...this is his week! Took dd to her club earlier in the week, £3 50 spent and £14 on stuff to take out with us for the day. Done the online food shop to collect for tomorrow £84 spent...its actually getting worse with the prices and thats with me being careful but there are 3 of us and 2 dogs that it covers so i dont think overall it is too bad. I forgot to add hot dog rolls on but have a goft card with £4 on so will run in tomorrow before i collect to grab some. Ordered some new work trousers on Vint shop, £24 spent on 3 nice pairs including some cropped ones for the summer, as mine were coming apart at the seams...£6 spent 2.5 years ago i have had my moneys worth.

Tomorrow, dd has a friend coming for the afternoon and i will potter around the garden and house, got 2 loads of washing to do so will get it dry outside.

Overall i have had a lovely week off, i dont feel refreshed as such as not much rest although today was a slow start, but its been a nice week, only 7.5 weeks now until the big one and currently i have little to no plans but lots in the meantime to keep me busy.

My motivation now is to get my debts paid off and then to save every penny in 12 years I want to have enough to buy my house...if not it all then most, then do the same but without paying rent I want to have a holiday home abroad...i may never get there but I have a plan and that's what I want for my future, my retirement. I want the life i never thought i could have, this is whats keeping me going atm, each time i pay something and have less than £10 in my bank and have to get creative this is what is keeping me from spending or at least spending as much...

    Tomorrow's plans
    General housework
Fill screen wash up, i must do this
    Collect shopping
Grab some hot dog buns i forgot from shopping
    Washing and dry outside
    Iron uniforms for the week
Iron a set of curtains and hang them
    All food from stores
    Tidy up the garden
Help oh put up new lights
    Enjoy the sunny weather!

  • " I want the life i never thought i could have "

This is it exactly... and it is very much a "can be" situation... and when it happens it will be bloody awesome. You sound you have clear goals and that is a strong motivation to keep going when you are down to that last £10.

A number of years back our goal was to save the deposit to buy our own home and for 18 months we went hardcore and SAVED. We did our homework in the meantime visiting areas we might consider, lots of looking on RM so when the time came we were ready to move fast. This was also a great way of keeping our eye on the prize while we were saving.

About 30 years ago as an experiment the company I worked for put some of us on a self-motivation course with a view to putting everyone on it. Long story short it was a bit crap but I learned the power of visualising clear goals and its a fantastic tool (you do this already with your use of lists) but further to this I found creating a Goals visualisation sheet photos, pictures of what you want to achieve is a lot of fun. Put your A4 sheet, poster whatever where you will see it regularly and know you have a clear plan to achieve these things.

Have a great day ticking off the jobs on your list.

I hope to tick off the following on mine
    Cut grass
Washing done, dried on line and put away
    Cars washed
    Sweep/vacuum
Sort one bag of clothes for charity
Play piano even if its only for 10 mins
    Run 5k on treadmill

    Enjoy your day
  • Good morning @jusferbrowsing

Thank you for your inspirational message on an early Saturday morning, it is lovely to wake up to. You have a very long list too today, lovely to making the most of the weather isnt it? However I am not sure about the 5k run...may finish me off! Altho it would be needed in my case!

I do like my lists, never thought of it as visualising my goals but I am doing that and it is helping me.

I have clear goals, not sure if I will get them all but I have them ti at least try. This is something i have never properly thought about before therefore not had actual goals more like "one day I want to buy a house" now I feel like I have an amount to save for, it will change over time but even if I save for the amount I want i will be fine. The reason I am not saving for a mortgage is my credit ratinf is shocking and will take 6 years to recover and if I can focus and continue after i have paid off my debts to save that money i will be a good chuck there in 12 years just without the interest, yes I will have rent but I will also be saving so much in interest over that period of time compared to a mortgage it will be better

Today is bright and sunny, I cant wait to get started on the day, i need a cuppa first.

I also forgot I need to grab a baguette and some small drinks will use the voucher which will hopefully cover it for dds club tournament tomorrow as we will be out around 4-6 hours and I am not buying drinks and food there will cost a fortune esp when I have stuff at home.
  • Yesterday was a lovely day, i did almost all of my list except the ironing items, plan on doing those shortly as it is cooler. Was a scorcher yesterday. I spend £5.31 in shop to include drinks, snacks etc on top.of my voucher. Unfortunately dd has been sick in the night and is not well enough, she wasnt well last night and spent it laying on the sofa for hours so a relaxing day again today.

We also didnt have the tea on my meal plan which was burgers as dd wasnt feeling well and me and oh didnt fancy anything big so did pasta instead, we really enjoyed it. Will make burgers today though.

Got a bit more washing to do that will get that in this morning and dried outside. Other than that a nsd as dd is too unwell so we will be staying at home and getting ready for going back to school and work tomorrow. I am looking forward to a nice and relaxing day again as for me they are rare.

    Todays plans
    All meals from stores
    Iron uniforms
Iron and hang 1 pair of curtains
    Washing and dry outside
    Put away clean washing
    Have a nice bath later
    Relax in the bath
    General housework
Sort things for work and school tomorrow
Make sure dd has completed all homework.

Thats my plan for today, a nice and quiet one really!
