  • I have returned for a mid week catch up.
Work has been manic as always, feel like i need to break up asap! I have managed each night to do a bit more housework i wouldnt normally do in the week, yesterday i put a mountain of clean clothes away today i have been pottering around a bit more than usual in the week. Had 2 nsds in a row, going for 3 tomorrow. I am making sure i dont need anything at the start of the week. I also treated myself to a soup cup thing for work, £1.50 and i love it i have used it twice already this week so hopefully i have some soup left in the cupboard for my lunches for the next 2 days! Will stock up next week ready for the month ahead.

I have been keeping and eye on my bamk balance it doesn't look great but tbh it never does i dont need anything so should be ok.

My internet contract is up next month i will have a look tonight for different providers and better deals and that can be tonights plan i think. I also want to do an audit this week of spends to make sure i am only subscribed to what i want and i am not paying for things i dont need or want. As i have no sky i will keep spotify and netflix as we use them all the time and currently have a free disney subscription. I also want to make notes of dates contracts end on hp products and insurances etc.
Will hopefully come back soon with some success...

We found various mixtures of root veg cooked through and then blended have turned out nicer than any shop bought soup. Much cheaper too!

  • Hello @stymied thank you for the tip, i am very funny with foods, but i love tomato soup i have found a recipe on the bbc food website that i will have a look at next week and try some out in the holidays.

I have had a good week moneywise, i have spent nothing, not a penny, nada! 3 nsds then today i spent the food shop for the week, £80 which does sound steep but £20 of it is dog food so realistically its £60 for 3 of us which isnt bad when we all have packed lunches each day too. Shopping is on a late slot to be delivered due to it being the cheapest.

Tomorrow i will have to spend, dd has her club and a second club shes started its £10 a week but my dad is paying for it for her so he has sent a cheque with the money i just need to cover it tomorrow until it comes and then clears. I still have 66 miles of petrol left so managed to get it to last i think i will use quite a bit tomorrow though taking dd to the clubs. I am feeling really good about how this week has gone.

I have looked at new Internet providers only my current provider does that fast in the area but it isnt great so i am not sure. Will keep looking this weekend.

    Plans for tomorrow
    All food from stores
    Take dd to clubs
    Change beds
    Washing, drying and put away
Uniform ironing due to a busier than normal Sunday this week
    Put new duvet on bed
    General housework
    Nsd except for dds club
Take an indepth look at finances and make sure everything i am paying for i need or i am getting the use out of.
Book a hair appointment for the holidays as i am in desperate need will be 4 months since the last time it was done.
Sort bathroom cupboard out its got allsorts of rubbish cluttering the place up.

My list looks long for tomorrow when in actual fact its lots of little jobs that i keep putting off but wont take long to sort.
  • Well I am not sure where the last few weeks have gone except work has been crazy and the last week I have been focusing on myself, oh and dd and sorting the house out.

Had some expenses when my vacuum broke, literally snapped in half, I had to use credit to buy it but me and oh have gone halves and it will be paid off next month. I am taking dd out to Alton Towers next week, will take a picnic. Weve just got back from 2 nights and my mums holiday home, we spent £50 down there but it was cheaper than us paying to go somewhere else and it was well needed.

My plans for the weekend are quite relaxed I have already got the shopping delivered using a £25 delivery code  £85 spent but stocked up a lot to hopefully see us through just over a week. Tomorrow we are going to get a new washing line, oh is paying so no spend for me! Dd has a party in the morning so that will keep her entertained.

When we were away I got some recipe books from the charity shop so plan on having a look through those for healthier meal ideas so will do that tomorrow along with hopefully a tip run.

My bank as always isnt looking great but plan on staying close and hopefully not put petrol in this week to save some pennies if possible altho me and my mum have been talking about doing a car boot if the weather holds out then i may need to if not i will try not to go anywhere i dont need to.

    Tomorrows plans
    All meals from stores
    Take dd to party
    General housework
    Buy washing line with oh
Use washing line to dry as much as possible outside
    Trip to the tip
    Look for new sim deals
Look at home insurance deals as a shocking increase came on my renewal
    Put away clean washing

  • Happy Easter Sunday!

Back again, I am actively trying to come back and keep myself in check.

Yesterday was a good day, i did need petrol in the end, £25 spent was down to the last little bit and it isnt good for the engine. I also popped to Mr T and got some reduced fresg vegetables for the rabbits along with some reduced meals so spent £15 in total but got a whole chinese takeaway along with fresh vegetables, some more fruit for dd and some bread. So i did spend more than i intended to but thats why i am back to make myself accountable.

I also changed home insurance, as the renewal was bad, i pay monthly as not in a position to save up just yet. But it has gone from £172 (renewal) to £107 a year disgusting how they can charge you those prices on renewal.  I also ordered me and oh new sim cards £8 a month for sim only hopefully will have better signal than the current provider, i did think shall i get the extra Internet even tho we already have plenty on this one as its only £2 a month more, then i worked it out £48 a year between us on Internet we dont need....no thanks. I was quite proud of the realisation.

We ordered a new washing line, ironing board and clothes airer (the ironing board is help up.with my willpower alone) and the airer has also broken, these things weve had 7+ years and are needed as they have or are going very quickly so they should be here this week. Will hopefully save some pennies on the washing and drying.

Yesterday i did everything on my list except for put the clean washing away that will be on todays list. As oh is at work its just me and dd today.

    Todays plans:
    All food from stores
Bake a cake - one for me and one for my mum.
    General housework
    Put clothes away
Visit mum to take cake for easter and return holiday home keys
    Change beds
Washing and dry as much as possible outside

First thing i need to do it get out of bed and have some caffeine before i start the day.

  • Had a very productive easter Sunday. I have done all the jobs on the list, made 2 cakes, they went down well at mine and my mums.  Feeling really tired now after everything i have completed, small list, but took an age. I also saw my nan today which was lovely.

Dd has had a nice day too and plenty of easter eggs, we only brought dd this year and it saved a fortune and the extra pressure of is the egg big enough, is one egg enough etc. Lovely feeling to not have to worry and we told our siblings beforehand so no bad feelings was nice we all agreed beforehand like we were all wanting the same thing but no one wanted to say first.

Also had a nsd today which again was lovely, hoping for tomorrow as a nsd too!

    Tomorrow's plans

    Hopefully meeting a friend
    General housework
More washing as it is endless in this house.
    All food from stores
Movie night with dd, i already have pop corn to make it feel more like a treat.

Thats all i can think of for now may add in the morning.
  • Well today has been the most boring day ever. Oh has gone to work on a later shift. We played some games earlier beyond that done nothing except the list above. I feel like its been a wasted day, tbh dd did not want to do any of what i suggested shes just pottered in the house and done some reading as thats what she wanted to do. On the plus side not doing anything has meant a nsd which is good. Got tea in the oven for us then we are putting on our film. I am not used to a day in the house and nothing really to do so it is strange to me as my lists keep me busy.

I have managed 3 loads of washing all on eco didnt get much dry outside but got a lot on the airer but the dryer is on atm for the bits.

    Tomorrow plans
    General housework
Having hair done so will be a spend day.
Sort out what snacky bits i need for day out Wednesday and will need bread tomorrow to make some sandwiches.
Dd has a club on the evening
Sort clothes for the following day
    All meals from stores.
More washing....i only have 1 load tho.
Hopefully my new sim will come tomorrow so will transfer everything over to it as my number is being deactivated tomorrow if not I will use dds phone to see me through if needed.

Right off to dish up dinner then watch a film with dd
  • Tuesday was a good day, i managed everything on my list, my sim card only came today tho so still trying to set it up.
Yesterday we went out for the day, wasnt great due to the weather, lots of pennies spent but it was all budgeted for, still doesnt make it better when it wasnt the greatest actually felt like a complete rip off. Seriously fed up with English weather atm and that you can never plan anything.
Today we all had a nice lie in, i have hand scrubbed the kitchen floor then mopped it, it looks amazing, done some washing which is currently on the airer outside, had a shower and now i am going to have something to eat before getting ready to see a friend, going to a coffee shop so will cost a drink each for me and dd, this is the friend i only see in the holidays so i am looking forward to it and dont mind the treat but want to be full so I don't succumb to the cakes and sandwiches then a movie night with dd.

All in all hopefully a lsd today, tomorrow though i havent quite decided as its our last day off if we are doing anything or relaxing, dd doesnt know what she wants to do but i know i will be using my free car wash voucher from home insurance transfer tomorrow and i will order a food shop for next week after making a meal plan.

I will return later with a list for tomorrow.
  • I have just wrote a long post and lost it so il just recap.

Yesterday was lovely i spent £15 but was there 2 hours, dd had a nice time too seeing my friends daughter, came home had some tea and watched a film with dd.

    Todays plans:
Go to the tip to take all the cardboard that had somehow been building up in the shed.
Take car for free car wash
    All food from stores.
    General housework
2 loads of washing, hopefully dry outside
Meal plan and online order for food shop
Go to shop with oh - hes paying.
    Put clean washing away
Sort uniforms out ready to be ironed over the weekend.

Thats all i can think of now, I am sure i had more on my list i just lost but thats it for today, i may add to it later but il make a start on that.

Right off for some caffine then to start my day.
