Why, is Big Sweaty Geoff busy?TripleH said:Invite your friend Big Hairy Steve over for some naked airguitar when you're away and remove the curtains if the houses are back to back, bin bags and a homemade caterpillar? It's a pain, but I agree bag the clothes up and leave on her doorstep, don't leave in the rain as suggested. Take the high ground and consider that as the matter closed.Curtains /blinds or even a hedge are possible solutions. I would also ignore her. Get on with your lives and pretend she isn't there.

I have put films on my windows that show a mirrored non see through (in daylight) surface to the outside. They don't work at night but also stop the house getting too warm in summer, help keep heat in during the winter.

Just deliver all her things to her property then ignore all further correspondence.

Can’t use mirror film, would look odd as there 13ft wide windows.Regarding the executor she was the executor of the will, and the house contracts were shown as vacant possession, obviously excluding my things. The house was sold at slightly under market value but I obviously only had to pay half of it but it need about £50,000 spending on it so haven’t got a cheap house really. And the behaviour of someone lonely.. that’s her own fault for being the selfish and greedy person she is.0

And the behaviour of someone lonely.. that’s her own fault for being the selfish and greedy person she is.You got a house and paid less than half its market value. That's certainly 'cheap' by one definition, though I admit that if you paid more than the cost of an 'average' hpuse (eg if it's a 6 bed mansion with a pool) then no, it's not 'a cheap house'.But I note you've ignored the suggestions by the vast majority of responders here regarding what to do with her possessions..........1

Don't let your relative live rent free in your head.Get the stuff across the road to her and move on with your life. Wouldn't you far rather have the use of the space it occupies than score points over who pays for its delivery? If you'd done it last week, last month, last year, you wouldn't be giving it a moment's thought right now.Make £2025 in 2025

By holding on to that anger/hatred you have for her {+ ignoring the unanimous responses to deliver her stuff to her} you run the risk of - unwittingly - turning into a selfish and greedy person like she is… Holding on to her stuff will just make you hold on to the anger… Take the stuff to her and move on…Edi30 said:Can’t use mirror film, would look odd as there 13ft wide windows.Regarding the executor she was the executor of the will, and the house contracts were shown as vacant possession, obviously excluding my things. The house was sold at slightly under market value but I obviously only had to pay half of it but it need about £50,000 spending on it so haven’t got a cheap house really. But as long as her possessions are a physical presence in your space she will always have that hold over you and/or it will always be a reminder of the anger you have for her…
Dump her stuff outside her door - if nothing else, you’ll at least be free of 1 of the 2 (or more) things that annoy you about her…5 -
You're not giving her physical time but you are certainly giving her a lot of your time emotionally and mentally. Is that really winning? If neither of you back down, only the lawyers will gain. You can't control her actions only yours.
I would drop things off myself. I wouldn't consider it losing face to get my private space back/ for the first time. To keep her mentally outside the house not in it.4 -
You don't seem to like the advice you've been given, what were you hoping to hear?
