Morning all. Off to the chalkface today, marking, tidying and prepping to do. Washing to go on line inc new-to-me pure merino wool jumper which was £4.50 from the hospice shop. And it's in my preferred colour spectrum (orange/terracotta).

Morning all,
Lovely blue skies here, makes such a change. Washing fluttering in the breeze.
When I came down this morning the fire was still glowing, so a quick stoke up and it is burning merrily again. I have made the decision to have more coal delivered tomorrow, I fear the prices may rise if more people are using their fires than gas. I have also made a tray of Yorkshire puds, put a leg of lamb in the SC and WUDUPA loads. Oh, and showered! How could I forget that.
I have a friend coming for a cuppa shortly which I am looking forward to. Tomorrow will be very very busy - our chicken flock is doubling in size so there will be lots to do.
Iona - sorry to hear about your DH. I hope you stay clear xx
Mademoiselle - fingers crossed they don't find anything too sinister, I am sure it will all be fine xx
Dizzy - big girl pants on lass, you've totally got this xx
Big hugs to all xx10 -
Piggers - I have been meaning to say - I know you sell a lot online and do many trips to the PO. Royal Mail now offer a service where not only do you pay your postage online and they collect the parcel(s) from you, but if like me you don't have a printer they also bring the postage labels with them free of charge to attach to your parcel. WM done out on whirly and drying well.Logs done, managed to get some wind down oak branches, now cut up and will have to 'season' for a year or so.Cats sortedSmall food shop doneCat3 (shy / nervous) seems to have vanished, we think he has gone out of the cat flap, so I have kept cats 1 & 2 outside with me, so their smell is around. We 1st noticed he wasn't around at about 8am, so he has been gone for a while now currently sunny and low wind levels, so not too worried atm.Hugs all roundBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

In and out of the WAC club last night although I got some sleep first - but busy brain trying to sort out Ukraine/my poor motivation for keeping up with report writing this week/my mum's pain over the possibility of giving up driving/Mr N worrying quietly how much longer he can ride his motorbike as his RA is bad at present. Not to mention all the things which aren't important.
Good things to dwell on: my lesson with new drum tutor yesterday was fine, he is very nice, plus my 'old' drum tutor messaged me in the evening to see how it went as he knew I was worried. I caused a 46yr old man to shed tears of relief at the end of his (online) assessment when I told him he most certainly was not stupid, but dyslexic. Another pleasant thing to look forward to is that my brother and SIL are in our area on Monday; SIL's mother is in a care home nearby so DB will be dropped off with me while SIL visits, then she will have lunch with us before going home (a bit under 2hrs away).
This morning I managed a run, chilly but the sun is shining and it is beginning to look spring like (we had a couple of snow flurries yesterday). Planned a route with minimum mud, got home and found I'm back to just over 5km again which pleased me.
DW done and emptied.
Washing 1 load on line outdoors.
Now hell bent on finishing at least one report today (at various stages of 4 reports).
Still culling 'stuff' on the computer. Have promised myself a new one when I've cleared/organised this one; Mr N's is my old hand-me-down i.e. ancient and doesn't have internet. So he will get another handed down......eventually.
Ionafan sorry to hear about DH, hope he recovers soon and you don't catch it.
Dizzy you are doing well. Glad you found some chickens.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Ionafan, stay negative wishes for you and gws for DH
Diagnostic/survey man has just finished. He said he was exhausted, so am I from showing him from room to room and I have backache from standing about rather than moving. Good news is, no lead or asbestos, bad news is, the electricity is a mess and it'll cost a fortune to heat. Well I knew all that! Very many euros decluttered to him.
Hoovered downstairs
Things taken out of cupboards to access gas or elec all returned.
Ironing done
Everywhere is still tidy
Time for a cuppa and something to ease my back, wine or paracetamol? I guess it's too early for wine.

Iona.. that sucks for OH.. hopefully his turn will come round again soon.. I hope he's not too poorly xx
I've unblocked the toilet.. unsuccessfully.. job for OH I think.

GWS and good vibes to everyone after a busy week!
Have done a rough tidy and hoovered a few grotty spots. Turned out the hall 'junk trunk' and have a bag for CS for morning. Then I got on with some marking to knock a hole in it before the weekend. Friends with 4 kids coming for lunch on Sunday so won't bother cleaning too hard before they come!

MorningBeen woken early by cat 2 launching himself off the wardrobe down on to me in bed. It hurt. Cat 3 reappeared last night at 10.30pm when we were out in the garden, discussing which flap / door open for him, he came in dry / clean so I think he had been hiding in the undergrowth, just glad he is home, I have opened the cat flap this morning, but they are all in, attacking an old foil type Christmas decoration.OH in bed but was muttering about getting up early and cleaning his motorbike.Daily stuff to do.Have a safe dayBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Morning all xx
Sooo glad that the majority of Dizzy's Mrs Chickens came home. And I'm happy to join the Flylady posse too.
I've been reading along all week but can't remember what I've read.....apart from the chickens. And asb getting more chickens.
Ooo and iona how very frustrating. I hope DH gets a new date soon. And isn't too poorly. And you don't catch it. And the church accounts are soon finalised. Xx
I had to channel my inner Valli yesterday....and not hand in my notice. Which I'd actually typed because I'd had enough. Thank you Valli - best not to be too hasty, eh? And breathe....
Not back at the paid stuff now until Thursday....so I'm hoping to lose Stressy Bessy and Moaning Myrtle and rediscover the smiley me. 😊
I'm in the mood to fly. Come fly with me?
I'm up, made my bed, opened the windows upstairs, brought down the laundry hamper, and savoured my first brew.
Round 1:
Brew 2 and toast
Get dressed
Slosh bleach down the loo
Change the towels in the bathroom
Set towels and tea towels swishing
Sort washing into loads
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
WUDUPA a bowl of pots
That'll do for starters. Let's get a bit of order back chez Round.
Love to you all.
Rxx
