My friends dad fled the Ukraine during WWII when he was just 4 years old, he died in 1985.. to think that the people are still having to flee is sickening and sad and so very wrong.

I have 25 things listed to sell and someone is complaining I won't walk to the nearest hermes drop off point when the post office is at the end of my street not a very painful 20 minute walk away.. I'm very sorry petal but my health comes first! I need to package 3 items so I will get on with those while the girls are vacuuming..Bits of the house are starting to look less disgusting!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -

Hi all
Bit of yoga first thing, frustrated that running is still out of the question due to dodgy knee. Paid stuff done, working from home today. All doggie blankets washed and dried outside. Impulse online purchase taken to post office (I dont need it and cant afford it).
The situation in Ukraine is very worrying, I cant imagine what it must be like to be caught in in that.
Its come in very dark, rain or snow I wonder? I have a work call to make at 5pm then thats it for me until Tuesday.
Ooh Pigpen I must order my prescription too.
Love and hugs to you all xx10 -

Just flopped into bed after spending most of the evening gingerly separating sodden important paperwork into single sheets of semi-readable paper. My back is now protesting loudly.
Pigpen, we have around 300 chickens, mainly large fowl such as Brahma, Faverolles and Light Sussex, but there are also some Ayam Cemani, Spangled Hamburgs and Cream Crested Legbars, and also have 8 pygmy goats, 6 dogs (plus 2 puppies, one of which is going to his new home on Saturday) 4 cats (1 feral barn moggy and 3 house cats) and until recently 2 sheep (now in the freezer). I'm not even an outdoorsy person lol. And I'm perfectly sure that having the whole menagerie on my bed would leave me very little room Iona, so I'm rather mean and don't let any creatures sleep in my bedroom (well, except for DH...)
I need to get a good night's sleep tonight, so signing off.

I feel your pain Dizzy, I remember doing the same thing after a water pipe failed upstairs and spent a weekend filling our filing cupboard. I've just been reminded of this as have to produce one of those wrinkled documents today. The house is being inspected for lead, asbestos, and having the gas and electricity system checked. This is going to be interesting, the previous owner restored it bit by bit as he owned an alarm business so when his workers were quiet they did the electrics here, we have 7 fuse boards, many of which are still unidentified! I don't have to put anything right that is found to not be up to current standard, it is just so the future buyer is aware. It's going to be a long list!
Paperwork scanned and sent, other bits ready for inspection
DW unloaded, kitchen tidy
Bed made, clothes picked up, windows opened and closed, it's sunny but well below freezing
Recycling out, bins back in
Kitchen tidy
House still tidy.10 -
Morning all!
Got a busy day today and I need to get moving, but I've retreated back to bed with a cuppa as it's really cold.
Need to bank a cheque today, take children for various playdates to get them out of my hair while I sort and scrub the dining room. I also need to feed the returned flock, keep the woodburner burning, take some washing to a friend and bravely wash my hair in freezing cold water as the temperature has dropped here and the underfloor heating is zapping all the hot water rather than heating up the tank. I've also got two dogs arriving for the weekend (the owners know about my situation but still want to bring them, so I think they're desperate for a few days away) at 9am.
C'mon Dizzy....move yourself!10 -
Morning all.
DH tested positive for Covid yesterday, so his hospital admission on 10th is off, and his hip operation will be delayed for at least another 7 weeks. Silly man to have carried on spending time at his war games. I don't think he'll emerge from his bedroom until at least lunchtime today, which suits me. I keep throwing windows open to change the air wherever he is holed up - methinks he doth protest too much! I am still in the clear and hope it stays that way.
Fortunately I did a big shop on Wednesday, so we have plenty of food to keep us going, and the house is tidy apart from my study, his bedroom and mancave, and the kitchen table (mainly his magazines). Good progress has been made on the church accounts, and I am hopeful of finishing them today or tomorrow.
Dizzy, the dog owners don't sound particularly sympathetic to your plight! On the other hand, it's a few ££ in your pocket. Just as long as they're not expecting the dogs to be bathed and groomed as well, before you hand them back!
Hope everyone has a good day xx We have sunshine and blue sky to cheer us up9
