Avro to Octopus switch problems
Comments

That's more than 25% of their previous total customers dumped in their lap in one day, all of them with problems to sort. The last 30k or so of us will most likely be the worst of it, I was mid switch from green to avro when they both went bump on the same day, my gas account has disappeared completely, they'll find it eventually.Merlin139 said:
580K was the figure they quoted on 6th November on the update page. So that would leave 29K to deal with, but on 15th Jan they had 8 to 10% left to deal with so somewhere between 46.4K to 58K left.Phlik said:

Couple of replies taken from FaceAche!
We're very nearly there now - we've completed 95% of Avro accounts.
We’ve sorted the vast majority of Avro accounts now & we’re working through the last few (usually more complicated ones) as quickly as we can. We're sorry it's taking a while — we're doing everything we can to get things sorted ASAP.
More empty promises!
I think they are just making it up as they go along!
When they do finally bill me I think i will say I will try and sort it out at the same speed they sorted out my switch!
Unless you're about to move house then who cares? Take meter readings, calculate what you owe and put the money to the side each month, it's not worth getting excited about.0 -
It's what I'm doing. I'm in no rush to give it to Octopus. It's not like there's any benefit in switching at the moment.Phlik said:

I'm hoping no-one find my gas account, I'm not planning to ever move again 😁westv said:

Reminds me of East Riding of Yorkshire Council who recently discovered they hadn't paid a gas account for 17 years!Phlik said:

So, what have your monthly meter readings been since you joined Octopus and how much do you think you owe them?MrLee1976 said:I came on here to post the same issue. We were paying around £65 a month with Avro and was in credit for a round £260.
Our last bill has came in from Octopus £1060. And we now owe £800.
We always submitted our monthly reading and was assured everything was ok.

Glad its not just me thats waiting for a final bill from Avro. Like others, felt like I've been forgotten since the updates stopped.I'd been with Avro for a few years as well and generally in credit, so no idea how that makes me a 'complicated case'. Although my mother always said I was difficult.1

Decided to take this move last week, it then miraculously appeared that my online account now shows "Electricity move date to be completed by 5th March, we'll ask you for a reading on the 28th Feb". So it looks like there's some movement there. I'm assuming, that once both utilities are active they'll send a final bill for Avro.0 -
Somebody has to be last. Anybody would think that the Titantic is sinking and there's a me first attitude to get into the lifeboats. Transfer of failed energy supplier accounts is a first world problem.SydB said:I'd been with Avro for a few years as well and generally in credit, so no idea how that makes me a 'complicated case'. Maybe it's the Octopus claim that all the remaining customers have "more complex data and billing issues". Maybe some fail to see how their situation fits this scenario.?Thrugelmir said:

Hard for the customer to have an opinion on the data issues they may be dealing with, but yes, I can imagine there are a few that have got lost in the system and don't deserve to be in the last group to be sorted out, but it still feels like a small price to pay for having the credit balances protected with the cost being carried by all the electricity account holders.westv said:Maybe it's the Octopus claim that all the remaining customers have "more complex data and billing issues".
