I had one of the Child&Co branded debit cards and cheque book back in the day while the fun lasted. Good times! :D
Out of interest, what were the fun features back then?
I guess a Private Bank looking Debit Card and Cheque Book as per previously posted pictures:

I liked the comfy sofas in the branch myself along with the Child & Co branded mini-statements - otherwise, it was a normal Royal Bank branch when I used it.

It's interesting that Drummonds appears to be retained. Obviously, this might be due to other factors such as lease agreements etc.

It is possible RBS will make this an online bank and try to attract new customers that way or sell it off. They don't seem to make much use of the brand presently.

Re: Drummond: I think they own the building in Trafalgar Square (they may also own the one in Fleet Street), and In The recent refurbishment they have free up some of the top floors for development as luxury Apartments. They also have the Lottery winner department there so a team that quite actively deals with new millionaires.

RBS is defunct except for the retention of it's Scottish roots, Was a minnow when it first acquired Nat West.

Out of curiosity, for those of you that have received the letter, did you actively use the account?
i don't use the card very often.. i only really spend on credit cards, but i have a credit into the account each month, and DDs in place.

i'll watch the Child & Co developments with interest. if the brand continues, with a Child & Co card, i'll retain the account, but if they are taken away i will close it. had 10 current accounts a few months ago, M&S closed, so 9 now, and Halifax Rewards is no longer appealing etc.. i could see myself with just HSBC and Lloyds accounts in my home town in a few months time.
  • I have not received the letter yet, which sounds strange.

Mine is a rewards account, so pretty active, with good volumes and values of transactions…
