Yes, the information you are seeing should not be applied to usage before April 1st but the only statement I can see is on the general tariff page:
"After the recent announcement from Ofgem, our tariff rates will be rising in line with the price cap to take effect from 1st April 2022."
... not really clear enough for most people so I'm sure many will be concerned by the change.

Already is ; there are literally hundreds of people who are being transferred to BG from Together Energy/Bristol Energy who are getting very "excited" about what they see is another increase before their accounts are even set up fully!!

Understandably so given the way BG made such a mess of the 'guaranteed' dates on all their recent SoLR tariffs, perfectly understandable if people are both angry and confused.

I just logged in to my account with BG. Still no sign of everything being sorted since moving from Neon Reef. However, I was horrified to see what they are now stating my tariff is. The Welcome tariff was 21.607 per KWh, now 29.923 and the standing charge was 25.664ppd, now to be 57.782!! This is way more than I was expecting. My bill has tripled since Neon Reef went under.
Does anybody know where to find out the regional price cap rates as these seem to be way higher than the average Offgem ones.
  • See some previous replies above, it's apparently the rate from 1st April but doesn't say so. I'm about to complain to BG about it.

Those look about right for the South West region and a standard credit account, it would be lower with a DD in place.

That's because that's what they've swapped me on to automatically. I'm still waiting for somebody to get in touch with setting things up correctly. Whenever I manage to get to speak to somebody, they keep telling me they will be in touch. I've yet to get a bill from them, despite sending in regular readings. I'm already really annoyed about the change to the tariff after being led to believe that it was staying as it was until 31st July.

Those rates do not take effect before 1st April so don't worry on that score, but yes, their handling of the SoLR tariffs with the 'guaranteed' dates which they subsequently 'corrected' has been appalling.
