After the original EO decision of keeping the electricity rates until end June, which in practice meant something like them paying me £80-100 as my heating is oil and wood, BG appealed the decision.

On appeal the EO agreed that I would have fixed the rate had I known the price guarantee was meaningless and upped the settlement to nearly £800.  BG waited until the last minute but have now credited my account.

I guess they should take some of these appeal decisions as a warning that it is often better to accept the original decision.
Excellent that has to be the highest so far, I had people on this forum telling me it's a gamble but I knew I was right and they breached the contract. I would have switched in December 2021.

@BZ12 That sounds really good, and I possibly think the highest award so far? apart from those that were put onto "expired fixed tariffs"

When you are right, you are right. And I am glad they have come to the decision the have, I feel it could have been better but I am not one to grumble.... much.

@jobdone1 yes I do wonder because some of the decisions do seem to go opposite way for some reason?

I know I have always been one to find the "best fixed tariff" . I was with White Rose (Robin Hood) when BG became SoLR, I finished my fix deal (BG actually honoured the white rose tariff I was on) then BG ate all my credit in one month plus extra so I owed them, found Peoples Energy, 6 months later bust and back to BG under SoLR. I have honesty tried my hardest to stay away from them. Decided to stay till my "price guarantee" ran out and then was going to look for a fix with octopus.

Fair to say that plan went out the window and we are where we are today haha.

Good luck to everyone else currently experience something similar.
