jmsgld said:So BG finally responded to my latest complaint, it took them over a month to do so. I was waiting for the information from SAR due 25/5/22 before taking to the ombudsman.
They have offered me "Exclusive fix October 2023" backdated to connection date of 28/10/21
25.943 p per kWh
36.74p per day
We historically use approx 10,000 kWh annually (oil CH), though only used 5000 from 28/10/21- 31/03/22 so may be less this year.
So the rate is much better than what is currently on offer, but it is some way from what was available when I searched on 17/10/21 (the day I received BG contract info). The offers started at approx £50 PA above BG's People tariff, although I don't recall who the suppliers were. Realistically having just been burned by Peoples Energy I would have gone for one of the big 6 or Shell.
Does anyone know of fixed tariffs available from the big 6 / shell on or after 17/10/2021?
Are there any updates on ombudsman cases / BG's position?
Many thanks,
However one side bar as you have oil for Ch and hot water I presume what are you burning 10,000 kWh of electricity on !!!!! Even with that market beating fix that's over £2700 a year for energy not even running your CH😳0 -

As to your query re the Ombudman complaint route , I haven't seen anyone who has achieved more than £!00 - certainly have not seen anyone getting a back dated deal like yours -unlss they signed a non disclosure agreement !!!0 -
A brief update to my situation. BG appealed the Ombudsman's decision in late April. Since then my case appears to have become stuck in a perpetual loop. The appeal decision date arrives and gets moved back a week - so far it has moved back around 7 or 8 times...1

Bz12, I'm in the same situation.1

Another update. The Ombudsman's appeal decision is in my favour and even goes beyond the original decision. I'm reluctant to post the detail until BG have complied with it.
What I don't yet know is whether BG have a further right of appeal to this appeal decision. Anyone know for sure?0 -

@brewerdave I have no idea that they could just ignore the Ombudsman if they didn't like the outcome. Seems a very poor arrangement.0

What I don't yet know is whether BG have a further right of appeal to this appeal decision. Anyone know for sure?I had exactly this situation where a supplier Appeal based on ‘new evidence’ was upheld. As it so happens, the upheld Appeal resulted in a credit that I was not entitled to. The EO refused to reconsider the Appeal Decision so it went to a formal complaint against EOS itself. Their complaint handling procedures were so poor and lengthy that I eventually escalated to the complaint to EOS’ Independent Assessor. The main thrust of my complaint was upheld.
The moral of this story is: as a complainant never accept an Interim Decision before the supplier if you want to retain some influence over the Appeal. Expect the unexpected when it comes to EOS and its Decisions.1
