That's quite a deal for the 5-year one especially, is this from some sign in the market of prolonged higher rates? Or just Black Friday?Pompeydave1967 said:Atom rates now 4.6% across the board 9 months - 5 yr fixed0 -

They are demanding an inflation risk premium for the UK, which they do not for the US, France or Germany. Derived from the nominal and real returns of UK government bonds, it is relatively straightforward to calculate break-even rates of inflation, representing financial market expectations of inflation over different time periods. These are shown in the chart below for the UK, US, France and Germany. In the short term, the market expectation of UK inflation over the three years two years from now (ie between late 2026 and late 2029) is close to 4 per cent, while very long-term market expectations hover around 3 per cent.3 -
It's a little better than the next highest 5 year rate that both MSE and moneyfactscompare show - JN Bank at 4.49% - but not that much more.intalex said:

Yes, that's where I saw 4.85 but when I proceed to open 6mth, key features and confirmation email shows 4.76 so I guess it must have dropped and they hanven't updated that page.refluxer said:
It's still showing as 4.85% in the summary box (drop-down menu at the bottom of the account product page) - are you sure it isn't the 4.78% gross (monthly) figure you spotted ? It wouldn't be too surprising it the rate has dropped though, as it's been top of the 6 month fixed rates for a week or so now.BillTee said:Cynergy 6mth 4.85% Anyone applied for this? Doesn't appear to be available when I apply. Rate showing is 4.76% on website and application. Only found 4.85 on Compare Accounts link of website - when account opened, it states 4.76% Has it dropped already?
4.76% is also currently the loyalty rate for the 1 year fixed rate bond.I sent Cynergy a secure message yesterday (Thursday 28th) asking about this. When I got a reply 24 hours later they said, "Your message has been passed on to the relevant team and we would ask you to allow 5 working days for an update."Cynergy really are a law unto their own.1 -
Just a heads-up for anyone with a Ford Money Fixed Saver that's due to mature before the end of the year - their fixed rate maturity options are mostly the same as currently available to all (ie. not great), however they do have an 18 month Fixed Saver @ 4.70% AER (exclusively for maturing Fixed Savers), which is better than the highest fixed rate account of that duration currently available elsewhere (Oxbury @ 4.65%) and only 0.1% under the best 1 year fixed rate available, for anyone who'd prefer to take a small hit on rate in exchange for an extra 6 months.
My current Fixed Saver isn't due to mature for another 3 weeks, but submitting a maturity instruction now locks in that rate, plus you've got an additional 21 days to pay more into it once it's opened, which might prove useful if there's another base rate drop announced in December. If rates go up between now and then, then you automatically get the higher rate, too.7 -
Anyone had a Fixed Rate with Marcus maturing recently? I have one coming up shortly and want to withdraw the lot but I see no option on the web site for that. Seems you have to let it automatically transfer to a Maturity Saver and then manually withdraw it. Just seems a bit long-winded.0

Just noticed the Ford One Year Fixed Saver has dropped from 4.5% to 4.3%.2
