    Atom bank has from today (11 Dec 2024) reduced the interest rates on all its fixed rate savings accounts. The new interest rates are as follows:-

    6 Month Fixed Saver: 4.46% monthly, 4.50% annual (4.55% AER)
    9 Month Fixed Saver: 4.41% monthly, 4.48% annual (4.50% AER)
    1 Year Fixed Saver: 4.41% monthly, 4.50% annual (4.50% AER)
    2 Year Fixed Saver: 4.41% monthly, 4.50% annual (4.50% AER)
    3 Year Fixed Saver: 4.41% monthly, 4.50% annual (4.50% AER)
    5 Year Fixed Saver: 4.27% monthly, 4.35% annual (4.35% AER)

    They don't seem to update their website as quickly as they change their rate (as they should do). As that still shows 4.8%, it's when you download the needed app that you are then met with the lower rate (I was just about to try and open an account).

    The new rates were showing on the site yesterday morning, when I checked.

    I've noticed that with some banks, if you've visited a particular webpage before, it won't update when you next visit the page unless you refresh it in your browser or delete your browser cookies, so that might explain why you were still seeing the old rates on the site yesterday.

    If it's specifically a 6 month fix that you're after, then that's the best rate currently available according to Moneyfacts and it's also higher than the current best 180 day notice account, too.
