    Charter 1 Year Fixed has just dropped from 5.85% to 5.75%
  • Seems everyone is dropping the rates , Atom + Shawbrook diabolical rates - pity as decent to deal with.

    Smartsave, Kent Reliance, Tandem and Aldermore have also dropped some or all of their fixed rates in the last day or so.

    Secure Trust Bank have bucked the trend slightly though and put their 1 year fix up to 5.86%.

    What's to decide, I think rates are only going one way now.
    I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
    The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
    I listen all night for your step on the stair.

    Why are banks offering interest rates of 5 or 6%? Are they short of money?
    Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    Does anyone know if upon maturity of a Dudley 1 year Bond, if the funds are moved the following day if requesting for the funds to be transferred to your nominated account and the account closed? All the email says is upon maturity which is today.
    I have one maturing next month and tbh I don't know, I suspect it will be a 24 hour thing knowing the Dudley.
    If its an issue I would give them a call if possible
    The funds finally arrived in my account yesterday at 5.05pm. I phoned Dudley twice as was worried why it was taking so long and they doublechecked all the account info and guaranteed it would be in by 5pm. So they closed it the day after maturity (17th) on the 18th and funds arrived at 5pm on the 19th.
    out of curiosity, did you receive one payment from Dudley BS or two ?
    my fix with them matured today, and I received the annual interest from them 15 minutes ago to my nominated account, but not yet the initial capital - the account is no longer appearing when I login, so obviously now closed... no doubt it will come before the end of the day, but just wondering if you received separate payments from them.
