Is there any good search resource for fixed rate accounts that can be opened from age 16 rather than 18? Moneyfacts is a bit hit and miss because even using the children's account search, it still showed accounts that were 18+ when you looked at them in detail...

Best I can see right now is a 1 year with Coventry for 5.65% but not sure if I'm missing anything better.

They might be re-launching with different time terms or something @thegreenone - I've seen others do that recently, they disappear briefly, then re-appear in a slightly different format or with a reduced range of options/terms.  Although the menu links to fixed terms has gone too.

I haven't funded mine yet, but I logged in and it all looks the same, it's still asking me to authenticate my account etc. so it looks like I an still fund it if I choose.

Looks like Charter have pulled all their fixed rate bonds…
Interesting, they were very good rates but lasted three days. This and smartsave seemingly not adding 0.1% to the market leader are we seeing a bit of a slowing in increases I wonder

Don't think so. I guess they got a lot of funds in and now need to distribute them internally and put them to good use. Once the dust has settled, we will see a new set bonds. Also, let's not forget it is summer so things tend to be a bit slower anyway with holidays. Perhaps the interest curve flattens a bit for a breather before we head up higher. In my opinion, we should see at least 6.5%. Sticky inflation for longer would perhaps get us up to 7% towards nearer to Christmas.

when you login and try to apply for the 2-Year fix, it says "This account has been extremely popular and we’re no longer accepting new applications." - however, it looks as though existing users could currently still apply for the 12 & 18-month fixes as no similar message appears with them and it seems the application would proceed.
     Charter:

Logged in, I get the "sorry" message for 1 year & 18 month fixes, too.

I agree re those rates, people with bonds maturing later in the year good for them my monies are available now so even though I agree re the higher rates later in the year it will cost me to wait that long

Seems like offers being pulled, although Gilt yields are still rising so should be others.

I think 6% is a bit of a key psychological level though and may have triggered a lot of people to jump in and fix, with month end (often people get paid then) may have been quite a flood of applications over the weekend.

I just got my wife and my dad to open fixes (the wife with Al Rayan as she already has instant access account there) and was going to go through the Charter application with my dad but it had been pulled. We did Allica bank though and it was pretty quick to do, easy, smooth and straightforward so would recommend them on that basis.

Did you go into full search and set child’s age to 16?
