If that was an advert, there's no way it would get by the ASA!SalMoh said:...It also states that the prices are guaranteed until 31/7/22, this means that it is guaranteed your unit rates will not increase above the level set by the government price cap, not that the unit rates won’t increase at all.

That's nice of them to guarantee they won't charge more than the price cap. Absolute nonsense that they have come up with that as a story though. Are they implying that after that date they will ignore the cap and charge what they like. You would have thought they could have come up with a better excuse than that. Sums then up in a tee, absolutely useless and can't even come up with a convincing lie.0

The ASA deal with misleading claims in emails too...

What a load of nonsense, they can't wriggle out of this any more than I could by agreeing to sell a house at one price, exchanging contracts and then claiming a higher price on completion.
Clearly they have screwed up and are trying to limit the cost of their error by fobbing people off, in the knowledge that only a small percentage will go to the ombudsman and/or small claims.0 -
Obvious response... if that is the case, why were the tariffs later altered to remove the 'guaranteed' date? ... does that now mean that they can now increase the prices above the cap? ...

It just feels like they are lying. Why would you give different SoLR customers such different 'guarantee dates' if that is supposed to be the reasoning?
- People's Energy - guaranteed until 30th June 2022
- Neon Reef - guaranteed until 31st August 2022
- Together Energy - guaranteed until 31 March 2023

It could that each company they have taken over has been given a slightly different name for their tariff to differentiate between them. These names expire on the given dates so they then all just say the name of BG’s standard variable tariff rather than loads of different onesturtlethegreat said:It just feels like they are lying. What makes you think they can’t?beefturnmail said:What a load of nonsense, they can't wriggle out of this any more than I could by agreeing to sell a house at one price, exchanging contracts and then claiming a higher price on completion.

Your second paragraph pretty much says they mostly can and they mostly will1 -
Came from PFP and haven't had any email advising of change to tarriff yet and it was so called guaranteed to 30 April. Has anyone with PFP had an email re price increase? Are they going to standby our price 'guarantee' as its only one month? In which case, that would be further proof that the responses they are giving to other SoLR customers is utter tosh!February wins: Theatre tickets0

I think they just have wriggled out of it.
