Is there mains gas in the nearby area, or are you in a village miles from the nearest main? It would be well worth getting a supply, even if it costs £thousands and/or needs a mortgage top up. Roughly a quarter or a fifth of the kWh price, and it would increase the value of your property and make it easier to sell. It really would be a no brainer unless it's physically impossible. You could switch off the electric boiler and just use an oil filled radiator, but you might well then have problems with damp, condensation and mould growth. Fitting TRVs and turning them down low might be a safer option.Realistically if you can't get gas then HHR NSHs are the way to go, perhaps with panel heaters instead in the bedroom used for sleeping. If you fancy a (very) longshot for the lottery, you could try switching to British Gas's Zero Fixed Oct 22 (about 20p/kWh day, 10p/kWh night, no standing charge, no exit fee) or similar bargain tariff (e.g. Simply Fixed Energy Sep 23). It must be via Chat, you'd need to keep the transcript and be very persistent: the status of these tariffs is strangely indeterminate, neither definitely available nor definitely not available for new supply. But several forumites have been successful including yours truly, some quite recently.0

Here's a thread from someone else with the same sort of meter, that gives a bit of explanation of the various displays:

Some background reading which may or may not be relevant.Note the type of meter in the last two links by @[Deleted User].0

By way of comparison if it helps my wet electric heating is in a 70 sq meter 3 bed semi. I do limit the use and have a log burner in living room but I pay £120 a month all year round. I think this would cover at least 3 hours of heating being on in winter months but no hot water. It's a curse not having gas.1

There are two MPAN numbers, I’ve just found them.1
