QrizB said:Your photos show a single meter; are you certain that you're paying two standing charges? If you are, there should be two meter serial numbers listed on your bill. Where is the other one?It looks like it is a 3 rate meter with 2 MPANs, not unusual in THTC setups I believe.Ofgem made it clear a while ago that the supplier must only charge one standing charge, but given this isn't on a THTC tariff it is easy to see how the confusion has arisen...

I’m sorry but all this technical info is baffling to me, I’m trying to read through it but all I can conclude is that nothing will get better?I understand I have an unusual
meter but if I can get through to good energy tomorrow, what exactly should I be asking them to do?0 -

meter but if I can get through to good energy tomorrow, what exactly should I be asking them to do?"Please switch me to single rate electricity without a meter change and with only one standing charge."If they don't play ball, switch to EDF (must be by phone) and insist on the Standard Variable Tariff. That's probably worth doing anyway because Good Energy are so expensive. However, they may be able to change to single rate immediately.Tomorrow may be a busy day because Ofgem reveals its 'Red Meat to Save Boris's Bacon' at 11:00am...1 -

bunny73 said:All I can conclude is that nothing will get better? No, you can make things a lot better, especially as you are an owner occupier so there's no landlord to complicate matters.Suggested plan1. Switch to single rate with Good Energy.2. Switch to a more competitive supplier, still on single rate.3. Check / improve loft insulation.4. Dash for Gas, if at all possible.5. If no gas possible, go for HHR NSHs, each with 24h and E7 circuits.6. Go for Economy 7 from a competitive supplier.7. Enjoy the warmth and the least worst energy costs.0
