Mine were all QE2 stamps.

I recently sent 120 2nd class stamps for replacement to new the bar-coded ones. I have only had half back, saying the others were either stamps which had already been used or were not genuine Royal Mail stamps. This is simply untrue! All the stamps sent were unused & still in their booklets as received when bought from either a post office or a legitimate shop allowed to sell them - i.e. newsagents or supermarket.
I opened up a dispute with Royal Mail but they're still saying they cannot replace them or even return my old stamps. As I no longer have any evidence, how likely is it that I can demand they send me the 60 missing stamps. Where can I go to get more help on this?
How many others have had this issue & was it ever resolved to your satisfaction?0 -
Crown post offices and big chain newsagents and supermarkets? Or independently-owned ones who might have been tempted to get their stocks from less legitimate sources? There have been such cases...CP42 said:

I recall a similar post a while ago, not sure what the outcome was. Have a search for it on the forum.0

I can imagine there may be some counterfeit booklets in circulationuser1977 said:

PS just googled this - quite a few articles about people being told stamps are counterfeit0 -
I bought all my stamps direct from RM, and none were rejected when I returned them for exchange.
Just look on ebay. There are loads of sellers selling stamps at 10-20% of face value. Of course, they are fakes. There are sellers shipping supposedly genuine RM stamps all the way from China.
If you buy your stamps from Tesco, they are almost certainly genuine. But, buy them from the local newsagent, and they may be selling you genuine stamps that they have sourced from RM. But, quite likely, they have spotted the deals on ebay, and bought them there.
You can't blame RM for refusing to accept these fakes, even if you bought them in good faith. You should be complaining to the newsagent you bought them from.
Plus, you can see why RM have now gone to the trouble to barcode them.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Have you seen the amount of barcoded stamps now on offer via Ebay ?1 -

Just rang and spoke to a helpful adviser who checked and is now sending me my missing 4 large 1st class stamps. I would recommend anyone sending back to take pictures as evidence.
Just received my 4 missing stamps today with an apology that not all the stamps were included.

Yep, and most of them will be fakes too. As to whether they will ever make it through the postal system remains to be seen…Rantband said:

RM can do what they want. They will not return the so called fakes. They are judge, jury and executioner. LIke they don't make mistakes.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0
