I was in Poundstretcher today and they had a pack of six halogen (?) light bulbs reduced to £1. They are the right size for my kitchen lights and after the 50% reduction worked out at less than 10p a bulb. I did notice most prices were extremely inflated though.

    Errr.....https://www.downlights.co.uk/faq-halogen-bulb-ban.html

You are quite correct, thank you. I have checked the box and they are LED. I had a niggling feeling halogen was not right hence the ? after halogen.

JackieO, apologies if this has already been asked but what make is your heated throw? I am looking at buying one as a gift for FIL, 94 feeling the cold. I have been looking at a Brook stone one but it has very mixed reviews.
I have had a Dreamland one for over 8 years and it's been excellent. It is heavy but it can keep me warm without the heat on at times. I got mine from Lakeland. https://www.lakeland.co.uk/25246/Dreamland-Alaskan-Husky-Faux-Fur-Heated-Throw

I see Argos also sell them.

That's a great idea @Flugelhorn for anyone with the space, unfortunately I don't as no cupboard or even shed here!

I know years ago when I had a twin tub the washing was always much drier than it is out of the auto machine.  It also seems to be drier when I use a launderette on holiday as they are upright machines rather than front loading.
