Well today was a bit of a pain.
I did a fresh load of washing and hung it on the line only for the line to fall over. So now I need to find some cement somewhere to secure the line again so I can use it. No chance I am wasting the whole spring / summer because the line wont stand up!
I have spent the day today cleaning out my daughters bedroom. I just have her wardrobe to go through now but I will wait till she's home to go through it and see if there is anything she wants to get rid of. Fed up of her filing her clothes under floor. Least then I might be able to repurpose a few bits as well into other things.
Also decided to clear my stairs. We don't have any space in our front door / porch / hall. Its literally a small square that leads right onto the stairs or the door from the living room. So all the shoes were dumped behind the front door which made it a pain to open, so I had them neatly put on the steps but every time I've had to open the door I can feel myself cringing because I just felt it looked a mess - so I have heaved a 6 box Kallax system that was holding a few craft bits from my bedroom and put it onto the stairs landing which is only a small space but (besides maybe getting boxes to make it look neater) it now holds all the shoes as well as the dog baskets and I have an empty slot to put something else in - not sure what yet but I'm thinking maybe a little box with things like a torch in case of power cuts/roll of bin bags for when kids tidy rooms or empty bins and perhaps Ill put some sort of air freshener on top.
Also spoke nicely to my son who has been working today and he has picked me up some tubs to store soup in so I will be taking stock of my freezers and cupboards tomorrow and making soup.
Also its nice and sunny here, albeit a bit windy but I think I might get my strawberry plants planted tomorrow as well as my cucumbers and peppers.
Time to find me again7 -
London_1 said:I have a heated throw and they are brilliant My eldest DD bought it for me about two years ago and it is so good, only problem is when I am snuggled under it in my armchair I tend to fall asleep I'm so cosy
JackieO xI know what you mean. I've had my heated throw for 9 years and wouldn't be without it. It saved me a fortune when I had a broken bone and couldn't move much.I have the heated boot I can put both feet in when I'm sitting. I also have a heated pad, originally meant as a back warmer to ease back pain when sitting in an arm chair but I use it as a foot warmer in bed instead of a hot water bottle when I don't have my electric blanket on my bed. I see they used my suggestion for using the pad as a foot warmer in the MSE article.11 -
I think this year I will look to give Xmas presents that will help with the rise in energy costs. My family is top heavy with pensioners, with my parents, FIL and both my Nans (1 in a Nursing home though). Heated throws already on my list of things to look at.
Amazingly despite rain on and off, my 1 line of washing dried. It was only lightweight clothes though.9 -
Where can you buy these heated throws? I can only find ones for in bed, thanks a lot xxx3

I got my first one from Lakeland. My second one, bought 2 years ago, was from hygiene supplies direct."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"6

@sammy_kaye18. A bag of postcrete will sort your washing line out. It's pre-mixed and you just add water. Just make sure your hole is around about the size of a bucket in order to get enough weight to the base to stop it tipping again. If you buy a "pole sleeve" for your washing line you can set that in the postcrete and your washing line can just slot in when you need it and then get put away over winter/when using the garden.17
