How early did you buy your dress?

Am getting married next June and don't plan on buying my dress until after the new year! I'm in the minority, I realise...

Almost don't want to buy it too soon, because the second I do, I know I'll be dying of impatience to wear it!

I, casually, went into a bridal shop with 12 months to go until my date, and the girls there said to allow approx 8 months to order it in and alterations etc. ordered mine Aug and due in any day so they do take a while. You can fast track it but can cost a couple of hundred extra so I've been told.

The dress I chose was the first I tried on - didn't want to try others but they made me so I was sure. Liked a lot but when you've seen your dress, you know!!
Can't wait to try it on - they want me to go in with my hair as I want it on the day so I can try the veils and tiaras. Can't wait!!!

Oh wow that's gorgeous!!!! I haven't seen that one before. I can't believe how mnay there are to choose from. I found it a bit overwhelming at first.

I think I am one of those very young and 'slim' types! I bought my dress months ago, before my wedding was booked or anything. It's only provisionally booked now for August 2009, so I bought it and had it at home two years before my wedding!

I was walking past a bridal shop, I went in and "The One" was on sale at £150 so I bought it and took it home that day. That very morning I'd been saying I'd probably start looking a year before.

It fits absolutely perfectly and doesn't need alteration, and I'm pretty confident it'll fit on the day... I'll make sure of it! :eek:

I think I could have bought mine really early the first time i got married but have worn that particular dream dress and now have to find another one! Styles have changed somewhat in the last 16 years - lol

I have tried loads on and changed my mind 3 times about the skirt style so far. Am going to order it in the new year and then stop looking just in case I change it again and the more i look the more similar they all seem.

Trouble is being a Libra i just can't make a decision and worry about what OH will think. Have been asking him sneaky questions and fortunately we both like the same type.

So many dresses only one day................................

I bought mine in June this year. Not getting married until November next year. I can't wait to put it on on our big day. Got to shrink a bit first though hehe

i ordered mine in the feb and got married september.
cant see why anyone would get a dress now for 2010 as fashions in dresses change so much!!

I bought mine today! and it's for a wedding in Sept next year. I've been looking since July and it's been the worst experience of my life.
I was told that i had until the end of March due to Chinese new year and the olympics - didn't factor in the last one i have to admit

This would be due to all the wedding dresses being ordered for the Olympians to wear during the games then?
