  • I'm getting married next October and haven't bought my dress yet. I've been looking since the end of October though. I've had 4 appointments so far and have another this weekend.

I've overheard some girls in the changing rooms saying that their wedding date in in 2010!!! I was quite shocked by that but apparently it's perfectly normal...

Well I have bought mine about a month ago and I'm getting married in May :) Mine has to be ordered and then made and there is a waiting time (think it'll be with me in Feb - blooming Maggie Sottero!) so ordering it 7 months in advance was necessary to ensure I had plenty of time for any delays and possible alterations :)

  • Buying a frock for 2010?!!!!! How the hell do they know what size/shape they will be by then?!!!

And I thought I was over excitable thinking vaguely about mine in 2009!
  • Quite! Although most of them were very young and slim late teens/early twenty types and back then I didn't think my shape would change either....

Oooh the one I've found which I think is "the one" is a Maggie dress too. Wow! I love them! Which one did you go for?

I was Married on a Friday. The TUESDAY before I went into the shop, lot of money in my pocket (a bit pretty womanish!) and balled my eyes out because I didn't have a dress that I liked and fitted.....

I found one that day - the girls were great! Picked it up on the Wednesday due to the minor alternations.

    Hi there

I got engaged on a Saturday night in september 2001 -went out with sis on the monday (not looking for dreses or anything) turned a corner -saw a dress and it was "the one" -went in, paid a deposit and that was it (never even tried it on)... when it was paid for i took it home in a fabric dress bag (in case the shop went bust-even though it has been there since before i was born:p )and hung it in my mums built in wardrobe :p and got married the following August... by which time i had slimmed into it :D ..

I know a lot of folks love the whole trying on heaps of dresses -but i would rather have gone to the dentist and had teeth removed -without anasthetic:rotfl: so i am soooooo glad i saw that one straight away
